I have been trying to find the trigger and cause of my body acne since my teens! Is it food? Is it genetics? Is it stress? I COULD NOT FIND THE REASON!
I never write on these forums but I think I may be able to help out, its no witches brew or home made. Probably just a simple element lacking in some people and I think I know what to balance it out.
I have suffered from chest, back, lower back and buttocks, also keretosis pilaris on my arms. It really sucks because I am in good shape but embarassed to take off my shirt.
I finally got serious about this at about 33 years of age and started watching what I eat (cut back on dairy, meats and oily foods, cutting sugars etc), exercising more, changing the sheets, and clothes every time I get. Some things had some affect but eventually they all went back and NOTHING WORKED!
I also sweat a lot (hyperhidrosis) so I thought I was just pre dispositioned to have acne and I had seriously just given up because I thought bacteria was causing it.
I've tried tea tree oil serums, neutrogena body scrubs, benzol peroxide, homemade lemon sprays and even used palmoilve dish soap for a while thinking it was all bacteria related. Currently I am almost 40 years old and I think I've found cure.
I am no doctor but I realized I may just have abnormal PH balance of my skin and after reading and trying out many things I finally came across SULFUR bar soap, (sal 3) to be exact, this was cheap, I bought it off AMAZON for about 9 bucks a bar of soap and I said "what the hell, I'll try anything". I got it in the mail and started using it in the shower with a scrub towel, it lathers up quite a bit so I rub it with the scrub towel on my shoulders, back, chest and arms, wash it off and repeat.
I've only been using it for about a month now (one bar) but the results are the best I have ever had from any other product, I still do get tiny ones but the big blistry ones are no more! Its cheap and it seems to work! THE ONLY DRAW BACK IS THAT IT IS SULFUR BASED AND KINDA STINKS!!! So I realized this was happening so I only used the sulfur soap on my problem areas and normal smelling soap on the rest of my body.
I don't know why I didn't think about this sooner as a person of Japanese background I had been going to hotsprings when I would visit my home country. These hotsprings are often filled with minerals and high percentages of sulfur depending on the area. I actually remember having nice skin after going to these hotsprings but never thought anything of it. Now it all makes sense.
I'm only a month into this sulfur soap regime but my hopes are high!
If you have any questions drop me a line, I would be glad to give you updates!
Cheers!
