I am really hoping people can help me, I have used a retinol on my skin and now have orange peel skin and microscarring. I can't explain how devastated I am, I am suicidal, as I write this I am contemplating it! Please can someone tell me if this gets better, will it heal and how long if it does?
I thank anyone who reads this and responds, I really am desperate!

Start taking vitamin D3
Also take vitamin E and Flaxseed oil 1-2 tablespoon a day with water
Start eating lots of fruits and vegetables as much as possible l, your skin can improve by 70% for sure

Also microneedling at medical office might improve skin texture a lot!
always finish washing your face with cold water

Stay positive!:))
Keep your head up!!;)

Try and keep a sense of perspective. Life is all about perspective and if you blow things out of proportion then you start to think irrationally. Remember - there are always people far worse off than you. Try not to take yourself or life too seriously. You could try honey I shrunk my pores by mama nature. I used it and really didn't expect it to work as well as it did. It made a noticeable difference. If it doesn't work for you don't get disheartened your probably find something else that works if you search around.

Your skins moisture barrier is compromised. Once the barrier is repaired and functioning properly it should start healing. Make sure to also eat lots of healthy fatty foods such as coconut oil, avocado oil, olive oil, etc...all unrefined. Look up Atopalm or Klairs angry skin kit. They help repair the barrier. Keep your head up, it'll get better! It might take 6 months to a year with gentle products, no sulfate or actives in the meantime...and absolutely no exfoliating! Enzyme masks from Danny Neifert will be good...look her up and message her.

sincerely, Janay

Do not exfoiliate under any circumstances, ever. Do not use any actives whatsoever, ever. It's more than your barrier, retinol cause damage to the dermis, look up academic papers. Do not use enzyme masks, the person above likes going on forums claiming to have a cure and selling a garbage product with ingredients of acetone and alcohol . Two things no one should use on their face.

Do not get a peel and do not even think of microneedling or dermarolling or any needling of any kind. The entire focus should be on assisting your skin to repair itself . Your part is to do nothing on the outside . No washing, at all. Every 10 days you can splash some room temp bottled water, 2 splashes then very gently pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do not use any topicals , your skin can't process it and it will just interrupt the healing process. Believe me, I thought I had to moisturize or get worse and I indeed got worse from using cerave for babies and even my regular light gel moisturizer with no actives . A derm told me to use vanicream and I got worse . There are chemicals in all these products that's normal skin can handle but not yours. No topicals for 6 months . After that , I have no idea what's safe or what will take you back to square one so be very careful.

Use a cool humidifier . Take the supplements like flax seed oil, fish oil, zinc (no more than 30mg daily) , magnesium, vit d , e and c. Take neocell collagen hydrator powder once a day, hylauranic scud oral supplements (not topical ), oral ceramides . Juice a lot of grapefruit and later in the day make vegetable juices with a carrot base (vit a), drink 6 glasses of water a day. Eat salmon, avocado and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables . No sugar, no white anything like flour and no processed foods. Eat lentils and other beans.

do not touch your face at all. If a zit shows up, ignore it, if you're not using topicals or washing , the zit will vanish in 48 hrs or less.

Do not wear any makeup or sunscreen , use a hat and big loose sunglasses. Do not let shower water hit your face , it's too harsh . Take short warm showers . Don't scrub your body because your face is already undergoing transepidermal water loss and you don't need your whole body doing it.

The beat thing to do is nothing and let it heal on its own . Give it a good year .

do not ever get any laser or ipl or any light treatment or it will be the same outcome as retin a times a billion.

You have a good chsnce to get much better. Someone said 70% and that's pretty accurate .

do not take use any creams or items a derm gives you, they don't even acknowledge what retin a does to skin so how the hell can they dispense sound advice ? No topical steroids , no sulfer, no anything. Stay away from those drs

your only shot is doing nothing and letting the skin heal. The creams recommended are terrible and have so many chemicals . Use them and you will not get better. Do not use honey. It releases peroxides and is drying and exfoiliating . If someone's mama has big pores because that's her skin , have fun with the honey, retin a damaged and changed your texture , it's not natural . Just because honey looks gooey doesn't mean it's gentle on skin. It's terrible for damaged skin

in the future , anyexfoiliation and activesare off the table . Your barrier and epidermis are changed and you will rapidly decline if you reintroduce any of it. No acme topicals. . You have to have a very simple routine and prevent damage . Once you recover , keep up the no washing routine , you don't need it. You can use a light no acfive moisturizer but I know of none that are truly kim friendly . Wish we had a simple and safe one.

please update how you are doing now
