For starters I have moderate to severe acne, and i have had it since about my 8th grade year.. (im a sophomore in college now) I have fumbled here and there with clear skin, but nothing has ever permanently worked... So I used to use AcneFree's Severe and Sensitive skin kits, but sometimes they would work for a good while, and other times i felt like i was just using it in hopes of it working again.. The sensitive kit was the last one i bought since it would make my skin very red and burnt looking after being used as a spot treatment and all over the face... The real reason why i quit acne free altogether was because it would make my skin very very dry and flaky! My bf would rub his face against mine and i swear i would find little patches of my dead skin/ make up on him (very very embarrassing) I use this tea tree oil gel cleanser now and witch hazel toner and this manuka honey night cream for scarring... I can't say i like the outcome, i really haven't seen my skin as nice as it used to be when i would use the Sensitive skin regimen.. I don't know weather to switch back to it or not, and i really hate trying out new products cause i just waste so much money.. Has anyone here had any success stories with "natural" products? If so please tell me what they are and how you carry out you regimens!

My son is having some success with epiology. It's based on natural protective proteins and doesn't cause any dryness or redness...in fact it actually reduces those symptoms. The regimen is just a morning and night wash and cream application

I am currently using a tea tree oil right now out of frustration, and high pintrest recommendation. Yes, it is drying, but it has already had a positive effect. Lower inflammation, higher prevention rate, somewhat reduced redness. I It is only day 3, but if my skin starts flaking off (it has a little around the corners of my lips and chin) I will stay posting..

Had very good success with safflower oil and clove oil. I put 1 tablespoon of safflower with 1/4 tbs of clove oilmix them together.Finish it of with a cleanser called Heliabrine (cleansing milk) has jojoba and macadamia oils. Leaves my skin just right not too oily or dry. Leave safflower oil and clove oil on for 5 minutes.

Honey has worked wonders as a great mild cleanser for me, and Argan oil (either as a moisturizer or with the OCM). A couple people I've recommended this to have had great results just with this.I finally settled on Argan oil back when I had really acne-prone skin and hormonal breakouts (I use "regular" products now because Argan oil can be pricey), because out of the hundreds of products (natural and artificial) I've tried, my skin liked it the best.

I agree that lots of "acne-specific" products out there are VERY drying (I already have dry skin), so they made things worse. I don't always agree that "natural" is better, but I'm a big fan of simplicity.

I have been getting breakouts since freshman year in high school and I am now a sophomore in college. I have met with my dermatologist several times and am currently prescribed a medicine called minocycline. It helped greatly initially, and still helps just much less so. Anyways what I have discovered works better for my skin than all other things is just reducing my sugars intake. This was initially a recommendation made by my doctor that I adapted to fit my life over time. At this point I have limited the sugar in my diet to one or two servings of fruit a day. Just try to slowly cut down on your sugars, that means all sugars even fruits especially ones with higher sugar values such as bananas or mangos. I myself notice a huge difference in my acne every time that I consume copious amounts of sugar and I have been lead to believe that all acne feeds off of sugars. I hope this helps.

Raw honey (can be used as a mask or even as a gentle face wash just wet your face with warm water and scoop out a little bit.) Honey prohibits bacteria growth (so its a food that truly can keep forever), and has even been proven to speed wound healing partly due to its natural hydrogen peroxide content, which is very cool. I like raw honey especially because it includes the pollen and propolis which are exfoliating, and it hasnt been heated or filtered, so the full benefits of the honeys natural state are retained.
