It's an interesting topic for me, because whenever you get facials they steam your face for the same reason.
However my dermatologist told me not to take long and hot showers, because the steam and the heat that frequently is harsh on the skin and leads to patchiness and dryness. I love hot showers, but honestly my face improved just by switching to warm showers instead of hot.
I guess if you want to steam your face once in a while, like when you get a facial it is fine, but I wouldn't buy my own equipment and do it a lot.
