I don't have much acne at all, since this is my third month into the Regimen, and it worked so well. I still wear foundation to work, because I have hyper pigmentation spots that I hide. Today, a lady came in. She told me that she could give me her business card for a facial. She works at Mary Kay. I am afraid that my skin looked horrible or something, but my family and friends keep telling me that my face looks great. Maybe it's just because they've seen me when I had terrible acne, and so now I look good compared to before. I have never had a facial, so I'm not very experienced. I did some research, and it looks like a facial is like a quick fix that doesn't exactly last long. Anyone here with experience with facials, or know someone who had a facial?
DON'T DO IT, i mean it is completely your decision but from previous experience i would totally advise against it. The reason for this is that i studied Beauty Therapy at Beauty School, my skin was clear and i had no troubles with it, i never wore much make up at all. Whilst studying this students got to perform treatments on each other, after this, as time went on my skin started to get really irritated and acne started to appear. Treatments such as rotary brush, vacuum suction and facials where performed on my face on a daily basis, soon i spoke with my teacher to say that i didnt want to participate anymore and that i would rather do the treatment on others as i felt my skin was aggravated due to all the harsh chemicals etc. This was okay....until i worked in a salon for a while and whilst with friends for spa days we would all have relaxing facials, the people giving the facials dont know your skin the way you do. Being a Beautician you need to learn about all the layers of the skin so must show that you know what skin type your client has, however they can only use the products they have in the salon, i feel personally that when i got facials it would bring my acne out 10x worse than it was in the first place when treatments started, my skin right now is more red and inflamed and i have pimples here and there (i only started using acne.org today after hearing about it on youtube), it is overall smooth but i have some scarring too due to previous acne, i just feel that the way my skin was treated throughout that period caused my acne and as more random products and equipment were used the more i started to notice my skin would get worse. I just dont feel that it is worth it because i often think if i never went ahead with all the facials/treatments my skin may be perfectly clear, as this is not a hereditary thing for my family. It is up to yourself of course but my advice is that they will try to sell you the treatment no matter what because it is good for their business, regardless if it is good for your skin, Beauticians will say how good the products are for your face but all they are looking for is clients and money (no disrespect to beauty therapists as i was one myself), but they are hardly going to refuse giving you a facial just because they are scared it may harm your skin or prompt the acne to come back, that would be them losing money in that case. I feel that you should stick to your ordinary daily routine and dont be fooled to go down that route, these people use the same products they use on everyone else, they dont have certain products for people who may previously or still do suffer from acne. Hope this helped !!
