Okay so, I have read some articles about what the difference is but I still don't understand properly!!
I really want to try using baking soda for a facial scrub because I have heard lots of good reviews about it but I have a problem..
I went to the store today and the only thing I could find was baking powder? Maybe I was not looking in the correct place for it.
I went online and was I supposed to look in the cleaners isle? Where all the bleaches and detergents are?
Sounds kind of harsh to me if baking soda is amongst all those chemicals!!
Also I live in Australia so keep that in mind when you reply with your answer as I have read something like, over here we don't call it baking soda? I don't know!! I'm really confused about it all..
Should I just go ahead using the baking powder I brought or will it not give me the same results? I don't want to put the wrong thing on my face! hehehe
Baking soda and bicarbonate of soda are the same thing, in Australia it is usually called bicarbonate of soda. Baking powder actually contains baking soda but mixed with cream of tartar. May not hurt, but chemically it is not the same as pure baking soda.
It is fine to put on your face.
Baking soda is great as a gentle exfoliant 1-2 times a week. But no, not baking powder. It should come in a box, about 80 cents or so.
Okay I will try looking for Baking soda again next time I am in the stores, Although I didn't have any luck last time and I spent so long in there.. Is it called Bicarb soda in Australia? Or is that a different product altogether?
