I have put a decent amount of energy into this site. I had created account believing it was fungal related. I am not saying it is not, or that it is. There was an 18 page thread which has been deleted, and my name is now different. The thread included my specifics on immune components to have tested. I attempted to illustrate how history and doctor gaslighting has impacted many illnesses. I also explained that I was in a full genome and exome study out of a major university.
I was surprised to find entire old thread is gone. I have many of my old posts saved, so can repost. Will do eventually. Anyway, as things come into more focus for me (how can I say that we are the same? There is no blood test for Morgellons) - it appears as if I've had low blood sugar for a long time, and that I have lacked awareness of it. It wasn't as if I didn't have times of feeling shaky, and when that occurred, I understood. However, it appears as if I had low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) much more often then I had awareness of. I can't say if a cause or effect, a symptom or a reaction. I can say that low blood sugar/hypoglycemia/insulin shock does impact emotional responses as well as many other bodily aspects.
I am only sharing if perhaps you may be curious to see if also true. If you want to track, you would want a "Glucose Monitor" - which requires a skin prick. No need to prick a finger if you are already bleeding elsewhere. Mine cost about $22. You will want to do first thing in the morning before eating or drinking (ideally with nothing entering your mouth for about 8 hours before) and again 1-3 hours after eating a meal, maybe other times if issues. The monitor keeps track of your results and time of test. Normal blood sugar appears to be around 70-140.
Research study/genetic results will be available supposedly early 2023 - but I have experienced delays in study timeline in past. I set my sights on before April, hopefully sooner. In my understanding, an full exome looks at medically unknown genes, while a full genome looks at genes medically known to cause illness. Results won't mean that Doc's know what mutation means, so thought I'd throw it out there to see if others found similar hypoglycemia. I do have appt with Endocrinologist to get blood tests. A metabolic disorder would account for immune issues (for me: Natural Killer Cells, Mannose Binding Lectin, C4 and high IL-1 Beta), skin issues ("Perforating Dermatosis", which has subcategories underneath = look it up!), and susceptibility to infections and/or atypical responses to infections. Metabolic Disorders can mean that your body has a difficult time breaking down certain substances including carbohydrates/sugars/fatty acids/etc.
Just sharing in case it helps another. I am 8-9 years in.
I was wrong. This site did not delete 18 pages - it was the site Skin Pick. I was enraged at the time and mixed the two up. I apologize. That other site now posts some type of warning for people posting on the topic, people trying to get help - "if you want to know something more about picking scabs, click here" - please. I've done research on how itching impacts people (people choose chronic pain over chronic itching), I also researched how many people pop their zits (87%, I believe) - so skin picking is the norm. When you feel as if a shard of glass is inside your skin slowly making it's way out, and no doctor is helping you, what would you do?
