Hi, I used the regimen for 10 years while I was in the UK with great success (acne.org BP). Recently I moved to a another country (Vietnam) and after 2 months I started having reactions to the BP. I am talking about burning, swelling and peeling. Has anyone experienced this and if yes, please can you share a solution.

Note that recently I have tried other things (tretinoin, azelaic acid) but none have worked .

I really want to get back to the regimen please help. Really desperate.

Thanks all.

What if it's not the benzoyl peroxide but the new moisturizer?

@mayonnaise I haven't changed the moisturiser. I know it is the BP because for days when I dont use it my skin is fine.

@levykhang If I were you I'd try applying the moisturizer first and then the benzoyl peroxide.

@levykhang I'd try confirming the allergy by testing a drugstore version of 2.5 or 5% benzoyl peroxide because it might just be a problem with the particular batch you got.

@mayonnaise thanks for this, I patch tested Benzac 2.5 yesterday and got chemical burn so definitely the BP. Maybe my skin has given up on BP...

Probably an allergy to the benzoic acid portion of benzoyl peroxide. I'd try oxygenating the skin using hydrogen peroxide instead. Only problem is that hydrogen peroxide can't penetrate the skin unless it's bound to lipid crystals or something. There is at least one product like this (a cream), but it's not widely available.
