Can anyone please help me identify what is causing my face to become inflamed? It popped up last week after I shaved/showered and has not subsided in close to a week. I™m just wondering if it™s rosacea or an allergic reaction or poison ivy or acne or pomade acne or allergic reaction, etc. This isn™t the first time that it™s happened. I™ve looked at possible causes and I™ve read everything from diet to dirty pillow case to hot/dirty shower water or respiratory problems. It itches and sometimes causes very mild pain. Can anyone help identify this and what I need to do to treat this?
Since it popped up so fast, it makes me wonder if it's an allergy to something. Used a new shaving cream/gel? A new mositurizer? sunscreen? Anything new?
If it's an allergic reaction, usually just not using that thing again will allow it go away and if you're impatient for it to go away, an over the counter hydrocortisone should do the trick.
Thoughts?
If it doesn't go away, btw, see a derm of course. They hopefully will have a diagnosis for you.
