Hi all

I have scarring on my chin from hormonal acne. I am working at getting the acne under control (I have started differin so fingers crossed).
What kind of scarring is this and how would I treat it in future, assuming I get the break outs under control? I have had acne for years, but as I 've gotten older my skin doesn't bounce back as well in terms of healing.

I use differin one night then salicylic acid leave on and benzyl perioxide wash the next.

I use to be on a combined oral contraceptive called Ginet which was amazing for my skin, but I can no longer be on combined oral contraceptives because of blood pressure issues. So at this point I'm looking at topicals and supplements.

Many thanks

You're right. Get clear first. The Regimen is always here for you and will work to get you completely clear if what you're currently doing doesn't. I tried the stuff you're using currently and it never cleared me up.

Once you're clear you can look into scar repair. You'll want to get under the care of an experienced acne scar specialist. I'm betting they might adviselaser treatment.

Also...ever been diagnosed with PCOS? Make sure you have that ruled out.

The mini pill that doesn't affect blood pressure can also stop / control acne. I know that it did for me. You would have to try to see though, as the results are quite unpredictable. It is said to cause depression but it did the opposite for me. That photo looks exactly like my chin. Sorry I can't help on scar removal or whatever but I can't really tell what sort of scarring it is, it just looks like bumps to me or more acne. Is it? Is it little pin marks (that's what I have), or is it lumpy? (that's what I have). It almost looks like cellulite on my face lol. I am going to try needling so the skin can try to repair itself. I have horrific naso labial fold lines because this is where the scarring was, along this natural line, but the actual scarring itself isn't so bad, the skin is just messed up like an old mattress that has no bounce etc. Is there a reason you don't use stronger BP it seems like either you should go up or down/not at all? Is the Differin working for you?

Doesnt seem like scarring, looks like severly dehydrated dry skin. Youre using heavily drying skin products so finding a good moisturizer is key. I suggest eucerin dry skin relief urea 5%
