Persistent acne around cheeks

Is this hormonal acne??

I™ve had acne and cystic acne since I was 13 years old (I™m 22 now) and it™s always been around my cheeks. I™ve tried a lot of different chemical products but most of them cause my skin to dry out and peel like I™ve had a bad sun burn. Currently I™m using mostly all natural products and my acne isn™t getting any worse but it™s not getting better either. I feel like I™m out of hope and I™ll have acne for the rest of my life. I am also not sure what is causing my acne.

Any thoughts/advice?

Acoustic

You may well have fungal acne, not ordinary acne. Red ears are a sign that you have a fungal condition.

Fungal acne is caused by taking antibiotics and some other meds. Fungal acne can also be caused by hormonal issues just as ordinary acne can be.

Doctors know nothing about fungal skin conditions.

You can control the "acne" by doing the following -

1. Buy clotrimazole topical antifungal cream and apply it to the areas with "acne" 2-3 times a day. Topical antifungal creams are TOTALLY safe and some/most (depending on country) are available without a prescription.

2. Wash your hair in an antidandruff shampoo.

3. Do NOT apply any moisturisers or organic oils to the areas with acne unless your skin becomes very dry. Moisturisers and organic oils feed one type of fungal acne and all fungus loves moisture.

If you get back to me with answers to the questions below, I can provide targeted information to control your "acne".

Have you taken antibiotics or other meds.

Do you have one or more of the following (as well as the acne) - white coating on your tongue, dandruff, flaking skin, toenail fungus, itchy and/or painful skin, red rash/es, unexplained tiredness, headaches, "brain fog", stomach or gut problems, sinus problems.

You may need a more targeted antifungal cream to control the "acne". I can provide information about this after I hear back from you.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Dairy makes me break out in large, painful cysts on my cheeks. ADHD drugs at relatively normal dosages do as well. :/ I've had to drop the strength of my Adderall down to find what works for me. Hormonal acne usually pops up on my chin area, but that's just me. Consuming too much sugar makes me break out near my mouth. So does using Chapstick! All this I've discovered through trial and error and the process of elimination.

Obviously there's a multitude of things for you to consider. Diet, medications, lifestyle, allergies, etc.

Not to take away from your original question, but I see from your pictures that your earlobes are red. Did you have earrings in? I'm freaking allergic to cobalt and have a mild allergy to nickel...found that out from cheap earrings that made my lobes swell up!

The FIRST THING for us to establish is whether you have FUNGAL ACNE or not. I can work this out if you reply to my questions in my previous post.

The treatment for acne TOTALLY DEPENDS ON WHICH TYPE OF ACNE A PERSON HAS

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks for ur response. Ive found that sugar makes me break out like crazy so I™ve recently been trying to cut down on sugar and it™s helped a little but new acne still pops up every day and the redness won™t go away either. I haven™t thought much about how my lifestyle might be affecting my acne though. I feel like I™m always trying to solve my acne problems by putting more product on my face and praying it™ll clear it up without thinking about how my eating habits and my lifestyle might affect my skin.

And my ear lobes were red because i was seeing if I could still fit earrings in my ears after years of not wearing any( I can™t btw) haha I didn™t notice until I uploaded the pic
