Hi,
I have persistent acne for approximately 10 years now (27 years old male).Acouple of months agoI used accutane for a month andbroke out like crazy on my chest and got other problems so I stopped taking it. At the moment my face is quite clear compared to before. I do still get some annoyingacne.
I believe I have fungal acne (I alsohave white tongue). Whats the best way to treat this?
Yes, you most likely have fungal acne. Fungal acne is caused by taking antibiotics, some other meds, and possibly by taking accutane, as you might know.
The best and safest way to treat fungal acne is by applying topical antifungal cream. Start by applying clotrimazole cream (often sold as Canesten, no prescription required) 2-3 times a day. Very likely, that will should clear the problem in a few weeks or less....
Sometimes one needs to apply a topical antifungal cream that is more targeted for the particular fungus that is causing the problem. A white tongue indicate that candida fungus is causing your skin problems (rather than malasezia fungus, but you could have outbreaks of both types of fungus) Nystatin cream is best for controlling candida but it can be hard to get. Which country are you in?
Do you also have one or more of dandruff, dry or flaking skin, red rashes, itchiness, sinus problems, toenail fungus, gut problems, unexplained tiredness or headaches or "brain fog", along with the white tongue".
Start by applying the clotrimazole cream to he affected areas, and keep the affected areas VERY DRY (fungus LOVES MOISTURE AND ONE TYPE OF FUNGUS THAT CAUSES FUNGAL ACNE FEEDS ON ORGANIC OILS), and wash your hair in an antidandruff shampoo, and dust the affected areas of your skin with antifungal powder (chest during the day and night, and face at night, if you wish.
See if you can get nystatin cream (sometimes sold Mycostatin). If you can get nystatin cream without a prescription, then you can apply that to the affected areas along with the clotrimazole cream. If you cannot get nystatin cream without a prescription, there are some other options for geting hold of nystatin (legally) in some countries.
The clotrimazole cream might fix your problems without using nystatin cream...
I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you for your reply. I am from the Netherlands. I dont have dandruff. I do have itchiness on my chest. My skin is a combination skin with oily T-zone. My chest becomes oily as well in the middle between the breasts.
Here in the Netherlands we can get the following without prescription:
-MICONAZOLNITRAAT 20MG/G ANTISCHIMMEL CREME
-CANESTEN GYNO CREME (this one is for vaginal infection)
and more similar products.
I will try usingclotrimazole cream and look how if it works. I am not sure which product to use here in my country.
This is a link to the product which can be used I believe. It has anti-fungal properties:
https://www.kruidvat.nl/kruidvat-miconazolnitraat-20mg/g-antischimmel-creme/p/594307
Use the clotrimazole cream to start with. It does not matter that it is sold for vaginal thrush. You can use it on your skin. Thrush is candida.
Miconazole cream is also anti-fungal but clotrimazole cream is usually better than miconazole cream for candida (which you most likely have s indicated by white tongue).
Itchiness indicates fungus. Also dust your chest in antifungal powder.
If the clotrimazole antifungal cream does not solve your problem, there may be a way of getting nystatin powder legally...But the clotrimazole cream should work to fix the fungal problems.
I am happy to hear back from you.
