Hi there,

i had done a accutane curse for over a decade ago and i`m still suffering with some sort of condition that is not really acne but more like folliculitis. It`s mainly on my beard area and cheeks and it comes with inflamed hair follicle (some of the are pus filled) and also a serve dryness with flaky skin around the hair follicle. So the Problem is the dryness and the inflamation and i dont know which kind of infection that is. It could be fungal and also bacterial. The dryness could still be a thing from the accutane and i wanted to ask you guys if you have an idea what it could be and mabye you guys also have some sort of treatment for that. I used a lot of antibacterial cremes etc. before i took accutane and i damaged my skin pretty bad i think. So there could be many factor that caused this problem. I have also infections on my head with pus filled pimples and also some sort of flaky skin (not really dandruff) that i can pull of.

I visited some doctors but they were all just throwing around cremes and stuff that didn`t worked very well.

I also attached some pictures and maybe you guys can help me with that.

Many Thanks,

Sebastian

i agree.its very easy for doctors to give out very strong acne creams with no warning of long term skin damage. - i have no proof but i believe mysensitive skin is due to many years of medical creams.

if you to a google search your find a lot of people recommend things like nizoral to treat folliculitis, do some research before trying.

i assume you know about diet & acne and what creams/soaps to avoid for acne prone skin(?)

This looks like gram-negative folliculitis - a bacterial infection. However, I would have a derm conduct a culture first to find what kind of bacteria it is.

I am currently suffering from this, and am on Accutane to cure it. Did this start after you took Accutane?
