I've been battling acne for over 21 yrs and I'm almost given up hope. I've tried every product under the sun and still my face keeps getting zits and now it's to the point where my face is constantly red and irritated. Only thing that's kept my pimples at bay is benzoyl peroxide and it's probably done more harm than good since I've been on it for so many years. I'm just at the ropes end wondering if there's a miracle out there to save me from this disease. I have no social life or self esteem even though a lot if people want to be my friend I'm just to embarrassed to be around people.

Hello. I'm 32 and still have acne. Been dealing with it for 19 yrs so far. You are not alone. Unfortunately there is not one miracle cure that will work for everyone. Have you tried internal things such as diet and supplements? How about accutane? The treatment of acne has not seen many new drugs come out but never give up. Many of us in our thirties and beyond still struggle.

As for a lack of self esteem - it helps to talk to a counselor who can equip you with the tools to make the necessary changes emotionally and psychologically.

Feel free to reach out if you ever need to talk

im 32 as well and had acne or "bad skin" since around 15. (same boat, a bit damaged due to long term acne)

myself, i have a feeling that the mix of products i used from the doctor/chemist, as a teenager into to my mid 20s, resulted in long term skin damage. my skin on my face seems to be extra sensitive etc. + a diet and maybe a hormone problem(?)

while it kills spots, from experience i would saybenzoyl peroxide causes horrible skin irritation. if you must use it, a lot of people say the weaker BP cream is better (ie 2.5% or 5%) - there is other things which can causes redness / irritation is excessive face washing, skin touching/picking, types of soaps and creams (some say Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is bad)

like leelow1 says, you can never give up. there is lots of different things you can try.

-not trying to doubt you but could it be, your trying to treat something which is not simple "acne" and could be something else? (rosacea, folliculitis, post acne marks, skin damge etc)
