Successful acne treatment

Hi,

I successfully have reduced my facial acne significantly and wanted to share as I've had this for 10+ years and gone on roaccutane as well (for a month, couldn't tolerate it)..

1. I stopped eating sugar ie anything with sugar in it's ingredients. I wouldn't eat anything with high fructose corn syrup either. I don't eat honey either. I do have maple syrup in the morning. I do cheat at times ... but I know I'll break out - so it's up to me :). So I recommend you to try cutting out a food that may be triggering your acne - maybe dairy, maybe oily / deep fried, maybe sugar.
2. Zinc picolinate 60mg a day. In the morning after breakfast.
3. Clindamyacin lotion (prescription) as needed for spot treatment. WAAAY better than benzoyl peroxide as it dries skin less. Very easy to use. Lotion is clear - like water and applicator is super awesome. Lasts for years. Now I hardly use this.

I wash my face with water in the morning. I have sensitive skin so I can't tolerate many products. I do get a few small hormonal breakouts but I accept them. I do drink a fair bit of water - like 1.5-2L.

For sunscreen - I can't tolerate any (usually break out), so use a face powder - Inika which has some spf in it. All oils give me pimples, yes even jojoba and especially coconut! I found argan may be the lowest pimple inducing one. I use it rarely, if my skin ever goes really dry.

My sister is on LUSH products for her acne but I think I get less acne than her now. Her skin is far less sensitive than mine and she can tolerate practically everything. She is a skincare junkie but I like simplicity.

Cheers and best of luck. Never give up.
