At the age of 13, I developed a rash on my forehead, and I used Cortisone 10 cream to try and get rid of it. This is the start of my acne. However this rash went away, but then I developed these bumps on my cheek. Those bumps soon became red pimples. My face was then starting to get oily in the t-zone. I would have to wipe my face every minute in class, because I felt so oily and dirty. I then started to get more pimples. I was so sad because I had such clear beautiful skin and I took it for granted. After a while I used a soap and cream and I guess it sort of helped. But every time my pimples would go away it would leave hyperpigmentation. It didnt really stop my face from breaking out. I got pimples on my chin and my forehead became oily so I broke out there too.
I used 10% Benzoyl peroxide from clean and clear which is the persa gel 10 but it just made my face super dry so I would have to moisturize it a lot making my skin appear so greasy and feel greasy, even though it was a "non-greasy" moisturizer. Im scared of putting on makeupbecause I feel like it would clog my pores and make my skin worse, but I want to hide my acne.Im starting high school freshman year and I need this acne to go away or at least calm down. Can someone give me suggestions for cleansers, creams, or moistruizers or something that help reduce acne for teens/moderate or mild acneand help reduce how oily your face is. I heard about tea tree oil and other oils but I dont know which oil to use. I only get oily in the t-zone and I only have acne on my cheek area near the nose, forehead, and chin (also on my nose.) Also give me suggestions for brands that have makeup that dont clog pores like concealer and powder. I don't want to go to a dermatologist because I believe they will make my acne worse with their hormonal pills and creams. I don't bother trying strong treatments like Differn because they supposedly make your skin worse before it gets better, and I don't want my skin getting worse. Please help, Im lost.
so benzoyl peroxide is really more for people with severe acne (like cystic acne) so i wouldn't use anything like that. too harsh. one cleanser that i use often was the neutrogena redness reducing cleanser. it's got 2% salicylic acid and sort of helps with redness. another good cleanser is the charcoal biore cleanser although this one is a bit more harsh because it has like menthol and charcoal in it but it makes your skin feel way cleaner. im a pretty oily person myself and since im mega acne prone there really isn't a moisturizer out there that doesn't clog my skin or doesn't have dimethicone (which you should avoid 100%) BUT there is one moisturizer that ive found that helps give moisture back to your skin and doesn't have dimethicone. it's the cetaphil daily hydrating lotion BUT MAKE SURE IT IS THE ONE WITH HYALURONIC ACID OR ELSE IT WILL BE TOO HEAVY!!!!up until pretty recently i haven't found a good enough makeup that didn't have dimethicone (let alone even in my color) until i went in to sephora and this nice lady there found a foundation and primer that are vegan, silicone free, all that stuff AND IN MY COLOR. it's called milk makeup and it can be a bit pricey but you get a lot out of it and it works pretty well. get the blur foundation (at the very least) the moisturizer i mentioned works pretty good as a primer too and set it with some a light dusting of translucent powder so it doesn't smear. don't forget to remove your makeup as soon as you can and wash your face off with a gentle cleanser and light moisturizer. that's really all i can think of for now but ill add something else if i can think of anything else.

Hi, do you suggest any topical creams to reduce acne for my skin? Cetaphil has a lot of great stuff for sensitive skin so I'll be sure to use that moisturizer. Also if I put on makeup how can I put it on so that the. Oil on my face wont show or do I have to get a matte foundation or concealer? I feel like if I put on makeup and cant clean the oil off my face it will just clog my pores.
Hi Sarahx8. Sympathies. Good luck with the above but if it gets worse please don't be afraid to seek advice from a dermatologist. They are just skin doctors , specialists in skin in fact! You don't have to do what they recommend if you feel it's not what you want to do just now. You can ask questions and learn a lot about your skin and its condition and all the different treatment options rather than blindly trying to solve your skin issues by trial and error. All the very best.

well in all honesty i don't really have any method reduce oil because i haven't found one. im really oily myself (like im greasy after 2 hours) and the best thing i can suggest is blotting paper or translucent powder. despite the fact you're oily, your makeup shouldn't feel oily or heavy otherwise it's the wrong makeup. i definitely wouldn't get a matte foundation because they don't even work and concealers can be pretty heavy if they're the wrong kind. i would start with the milk brand makeup and see how it goes but be sure to wash your face before you put on any makeup. im personally not a fan of creams because they're usually not non-comedogenic but toners usually are a better choice. i sometimes use the neutrogena toner if i feel like my acne is particularly bad. i don't remember the exact name, i just know that it's orange and smells nice. it does sting a bit though because of the alcohol. i would recommend seeing a dermatologist though; they can help more than me
