Hello!
I have been struggling with acne for about 9 months now and I need help. When I was 14 I had some trouble with my skin so I went to see a dermatologist and was prescribed retin a but it dried out my skin too much and was prescribed Klaron. For two years it worked great and I rarely got any pimples or dry skin. The only issue was my skin was on the oilier side but nothing too bad. Last July I started breaking out on my forehead and cheeks and waited it out for about two months before I went back to the dermatologist and was prescribed aczone to replace klaron. I used that for three months with no result. By this time my skin was extremely oily and I had breakouts all over my face. Seeing as though the aczone wasn't working I went back and was prescribed doxycycline. I then used this for three and a half months and my skin got continually worse. I went back and was prescribed retin a. I've been using this since march and I don't think it has helped much. About a month ago I went back and got another prescription of klaron and now use it twice a day, with a moisturizer in the morning and retin a at night. My skin has slightly improved but I still have several pimples on my face. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes before klaron to be effective or if it's pointless to use it because my skin became resistant to it before but I took a break so maybe it'll help again? Or if any one has any other suggestions for what I could maybe try! My current routine is wash my face with cetaphil in the morning and put on klaron then elta md moisturizer then at night use cetaphil then klaron then retin a. My skin is extremely dry with this routine then gets oily on top of this. I know this is long but im desperate to get thisunder control! Also I'm a 17 year old female!
