Hello guys, how are you? I hope everything is going well with you all... I am just one more of those who suffers from acne... over 8 years now... I need some advice what to do in a situation like this that I am right now... I've tried everything and nothing worked anyway, I got some accutane in 2010... and it didn't even work a day back then... I went to accutane again in october 2015... my dermatologist said to take just for 2 weeks lets see how it will respond, and well it worked... then I went to get a full course of 4 months I started in january (2016) and finished in may... after accutane left my system about a month or so, oilnes came back and I started to break out again... I had few accutane boxes on my home and I took some accutane again to calm things down, and I went like this (low dose) for several months.. just to keep acne away... I visited again my dermatologist and he said to take another full course of 4 months (and he said to me that this will be the last course, you don't need more accutane) and here I am again, accutane left my system, oilnes and acne came back... but all the time that I wasn't on "full accutane course" I've been taking some very low dose accutane just to keep acne away... but that's not a solution... I am going crazy, I don't know what to do anymore... I'm 23 years old and acne has been the worst problem of my life and it's still unsolved... everything that I've tried just works for few days or weeks (antibiotics and accutane only) other things didn't even work at all.... I onlyhave one box of accutane left and that's it... and my derm won't give me more accutane... I hate to be on acuctane but till now this is the only thing that worked and changed my life after so many dark years suffering with acne alone in my room...

Hi, sorry to hear about your situation! If I were you I would definitely change derm and ask for a stronger dose or to be on it for a longer period than 4 months. I find it really strange that your derm told you to take it for 2 weeks in 2015 to see how you respond. I'd definitely go get yourself a new derm though!

It seems up there you were possibly self-medicating. That's not good with such a strong medication! Only take on advice of a doctor.

Try taking vitamin A supplements rather than low dose accutane and try drinking green tea for oily skin.good luck
