I have been getting a stubborn cluster of bumps or pimples in the same area (my right cheek) for almost two years now. My dermatologist recommended Deriva CMS but it's been two months and I see no improvements. The bumps become red when irritated and I have a few ice pick scars there too. I'm 17. Could anyone tell me what type of acne is this and why it's on;y occurring on one side of my face?
Mine started out only on my right side too, for a long time...do you sleep on that side? I was...I switched to sleeping on my back and changing the pillowcase more frequently. Ultimately, it comes down to what products I'm using to cleanse. They have been too harsh and over drying, leaving my skin vulnerable...The side that gets more introduction to pathogens (pillows, phones, etc. ) will show more of the effects of being left vulnerable. Cheeks are also more likely to be the first place the effects of this sort of stress will be seen; the skin is more delicate.

I was thinking the exact same thing! I did have acne (and now hyperpigmentation) on my right side more than my left. I always assumed that it was a result of sleeping mostly on my right side. From what I can think of, there really isn't much you can do except what TheBean said, just make sure to wash your pillowcase constantly and make sure to have a clean face before going to bed.
The good news is that further acne can be prevented! Keep us updated! Hope the advice helped!
