I believe I have severe acne. I honestly don't know what to do anymore. I need some serious help. Here's what I'm doing now. I used to use la roche posay but it seemen to break me out more. I now use neutrogena blackhead eliminator soap morning and night with an electric spin brush. I use benzoyl peroxide cream at the mornings then moisturize using aveeno clear complexion moisturizer. I take a solodyn antibiotic every evening then wash my face at night and use either acanya or epiduo cream, I alternate them every night then moisturize as prescribed by a dermatologist. What is it I'm doing wrong? Maybe its my stress or something I eat that's making it worse. I've been doing this same routine for about a month now and haven't seen any improvement. Is my only other option to use accutane? This acne is seriously depressing me and affecting my social life. I NEED SERIOUS HELP PLEASE!!! image (2).jpg

Antibiotics can take 3 months to start to notice much improvement....now that you have captured photos of your current acne I would suggest persevering longer with the solodyn before writing it off and take a similar photo at 3 months which will help you to be objective about what improvement has occurred.  I'm sure your derm will want to review you at around 3 months and would probably try a different antibiotic if the Solodyn isn't working well before giving Accutane any consideration.  Hang in there |::comfort:

So do you recommend I stick to what I'm doing for a couple more months or should I change something up?

There is a funny book I just read on Amazon. It deals with a lot of the emotional stress that acne can wreak. It was called F**K You Acne. It was an ebook, i don't know if you can get it in print, it was pretty short, but it had some good tips and made me feel better about my acne situation. It lays out a treatment plan and kind of explains acne in general. I just wanted to share this around, it even talks about acne.org in it.
