Hey everyone,
I've been struggling with acne for about 7 years now, and starting to see mild scarring, which I'm not to worried about right now. Right now I'm trying to find something that will help breakouts and zits. I've tried proactiv, almost every over the counter foams, cleansers, and creams, I've even been prescribed Solodyn. I saw no improvement whatsoever with proactiv or Solodyn. I even went on a diet for 2 months and no noticeable improvement. I have had periods of weeks where I saw improvement in my skin with some over the counter supplies but only for a few weeks then my acne would come back full fledged. I was wondering to all you people with stubborn acne how you deal/dealt with these problems and what to look for in cleansers and other products, and the best way to deal with brown marks after some acne has passed.
Thanks,
David
Definitely look for cleansers that are non-comedogenic, and have them labeled with that. However, even though products may have that label, you can never be fully sure. I've seen products containing SLS having the "non comedogenic" label, when clearly they aren't.
Always a good idea to run your product ingredients through cosdna:

Best thing I can tell you is do not worry about the brown spots, they will go away. Acne is the main issue you will want to resolve. I took low dose accutane for 9 months and that is the only thing the helped long term. I am now on a regime where I wash my face with a clarisonic alpha fit and cetaphil cleanser every night and apply half- pea size amount of retin a nightly after my fave has dried. I just splash some cold water on my face in the morning just to feel refreshed.
