My name is Jordan and am 17 years old I have had cystic acne for a year and it has gotten severe on both my left and right cheeks that it has began to scar. Even though I do not pop it my self the cystic acne forms large protruding bumps that burst themselves. It has steadily decreased my self confidence and is so bad sometimes I do not look at my face in the mirror because it is disgusting. It overall has made me a lot more emotional then I have ever been and sometimes I have no ambiton to interact with people.

After failed attempts on three different oral treatments and including an isotretion cream (3%) my dermatologist finally recommended Accutane. Some side effects include drying of skin, depression, and severe birth defects. The only one I am worried about is the depression because I am already at an all time low and I do not want to push it. If you are taking, or have taken Accutane let me know what your expeience was with it.

To leave on a positive note: To take my mind off of my face for awhile until I am able to get blood work done and actually able to start it. I have been working out and improving the rest of my body which has definitely boosted my self confidence and ultimately made me feel better. So hopefully Accutane works some magic and clears my cystic acne up and I will be a little attractive.
