Hey,
I've always had fairly clear skin, with the odd bad hormonal breakout etc. but in the past few months my skin has been getting progressively worse for no apparent reason. I've been drinking more water and eating healthier, but it doesn't seem to be improving in any way. I've been getting constant spots, and these bumps on my skin that aren't budging and are just spreading round (they're mostly on my chin, and my forehead). I've uploaded a picture of them so if anyone knows what they are and can tell me, that would be appreciated!
I've been told I may have PCOS as I have irregular periods, that when do happen are very painful and some huirtism. I had a scan to check my ovaries but they said they couldn't see anything obvious and that I'm too young to tell (I was 18 when I had the scan, I'm 20 now)
Any advice would be amazing, as it's really affecting my confidence.
Thank you!
if you suspect PCOS birth control or spironolactone is the best option. There is no specific test for PCOS its just based on symptoms. I have had it since my menstrual cycle started too. BC pills good for acne are Yaz, Yasmine and orthocyclen. Drinking spearmint twice per day and avoiding dairy may help a lot. For me Cetaphil antibacterial bar has been the best cleanser.
Your acne looks very mild at least!
PCOS, uggg! I hope you find something that works for you. I've tried all sorts of natural things for my hormones but just went in to the doctor (been trying to conceive) and I still have cysts on my ovaries 🙁 most women do well with taking Metformin and following a PCOS diet, so that's what I'm doing right now.
