Hello, Ive been using Duac for 3-4 years, it has worked pretty well besides from the occasional break out. My doctor told me I cannot get it anymore unless I see her and the soonest she can see me is June 1st. My dermatologist was for young adults and now that I am past 18, I have to become a new patient at a new place.. So instead of that I am planning on just stopping. I cant find how long you are supposed to be on Duac or what to do after, i was thinking of buying some Benzoyl peroxide and using that instead of the Duac. My regimen is this: Wash with Basis soap, tone with apple cider vinegar, then Duac, then moisturize. I was just wondering if I should implement the Benzoyl or just forget it. Any help would be awesome! Thanks.
I think I'm right in saying that Duac isn't supposed to be used continuously for more than 3 months at a time. Have you been using it for 3/4 years solid without stopping? Has your doctor been giving you repeat prescriptions all this time?
Would you still say that it's working as well as ever, started to lose its effect or don't know? Maybe you should try giving it up for a while to judge whether you that much worse off without it. The other products you are using might be doing the good work these days.
Then, in a few months - if you think you definitely are in need of Duac, you can get another one - and you may find that it has a greater effect after giving yourself a break from using it.
In the short time that I used it, I found it was pretty bullet-proof in terms of keeping spots away.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I have been reading that I shouldnt of used it that long. I have been since 2012. I think it was working the same I guess. I dont want to use it ever again to be honest due to the free radicals and all that.. My doctor has been giving my repeat prescriptions for the last 4 years, I have used it everyday basically for that time too. I dont want to use anything really harsh on my face again. I think the antibiotics in this have been messing with my body.
