I need help with my acne, I saw a review here about coconut oil and I thought that I would give it a try I have used it 5 times now and this morning when I woke up I got 5-6 pimples on my forehead and maybe 2 on my cheeks
Hi. Coconut oil can be great but it can also clog pores. I use it to remove makeup and also as a moisturiser if my skin is particularly dry and flaky. I will very rarely sleep in coconut oil. If you are doing this every night then it may be blocking your pores. I've heard other people talk about a "purging phase" when they first start to use it so this could be another answer for what is happening. Maybe try washing your face with a cleanser before applying the oil or just apply every other night. Or try adding a toner to your regimen like apple cider vinegar.
I know it's tempting to try natural oil when curing Acne, but from experience, they cause more harm than good - especially coconut oil!
You are basically just clogging your pores a lot more.
Plus, washing oil with cold water ensures that the oil stays on your face. Cold water can't break down oil.
I recommend any cleanser from the brand Bioderma, especially in your case Bioderma's Sebium Purifying Foam cleanser. Follow with Benzoyl Peroxide (Dan's BP is probably the best on the market). After it's dried, dampen your face with water and apply a moisturizer. I don't know much about your skin type, so I won't recommend a moisturizer... But having a good moisturizer is important when you have acne-prone skin.
Good luck!
With love,
Olena

Thank you for the answer I have no coconut oil left but I have acv how do I use it and do I need something more than acv? If I apply it everynight will work? Or do I need to buy a cleanser?
Yes I think you should buy a cleanser. Not anything too harsh as it will aggravate your skin. Use warm Water not cold when cleansing. Use two parts water to one part Apple cider vinegar. Use a cotton pad to apply it. If your skin isn't too sensitive you can change to 1:1, And buy a decent moisturiser. Try and drink Plenty of water too as that will help. Also might be worth taking a zinc supplement. Hope this helps.

Will Jojoba Oil be enough or do i need something more? Thank you for the help

I have this one it's my sister I don't know if it's good it's a swedish brand with deepskin organics if that means anything
Looks like you're trying to avoid topicals or prescription treatments (or your parents won't get them for you?). You could try taking zinc gluconate 30 mgs. Zinc is a natural anti-inflammatory and produces comparable results to taking certain antibiotics. Vit D3 is also good, as well as omega 3 fatty acids, like fish oil. Personally I recommend an Omega 3-6-9 complex to keep things in balance. I've been way less oily since I started using it. 2.5% BP can be used to spot-treat zits if you don't want to use all over. Neutrogena On-The-Spot is available in most drugstores. Purpose (brand) cleanser and Cetaphil moisturizer will work great if you want to incorporate BP into a 3-step Regimen.
I know it sucks being at the mercy of your parents and whatever crap they have in their medicine cabinet (mom's Avon cream, etc.). Trust me, I know.
Hang in there and try not to let your skin get you down. There's not a member on here who doesn't feel your pain!

Yes I avoid them beacause they are usually shit and a waste of money but thank you for tall your suggestions I wil definitely look in them what do you do think I should start with?
I'd start with the zinc. Try taking for a month and see if you notice a difference. After that, try adding either fish oil (Omega 3) or an omega 3-6-9 complex. This should help balance out oil production. Keep your skin clean and moisturize at night (even if you're oily) to keep your skin in balance. Skin that gets too dry compensates by making more oil. Sunshine is full of natural D3 so is actually good for acne-prone skin...plus getting outside is a great mood booster! 🙂
