Hi all
I have never had skin problems until about 4 months ago when I developed mild to moderate Acne on my forehead, scalp line and right cheek/chin. This coincided with coming on and off Birth Control a couple of times in quick succession, and training for a half marathon (sometimes running 5-6 days per week for up to an hour), and a somewhat low calorie diet. I wasn't really doing any exercise prior to half marathon training, and I took the training quite seriously.
Since this time, my skin feels very oily and somewhat itchy (never had oily skin before). Has lots of exercise caused you to break out? I really don't want to stop running but I feel it is the only way to clear my skin.
In the last few weeks I have cut down the running to two days per week, and dramatically increased calorie intake and variety of foods. I have also cut down on caffeine intake significantly. Since yesterday, I have also been taking cod liver oil, Zinc, and applying Aknemycin topically (retinoid and antibiotic solution) I haven't seen much of an improvement in my skin but I suppose it might take time.
I would really appreciate any feedback or tips you could give me, especially if your situation is similar to mine!
x

I would say the acne outbreak is most likely from coming off birth control. Are you still off it? - that can mess up your hormones.
I have read somewhere that over intense exercise might exacerbate acne because its increasing stress in your body, but some moderate exercise is good especially for lowering blood sugar ????
