So I started getting acne freshman year of high school. At first it was just on the sides of my forehead, and on my temples. They were whiteheads and nothing too horrible. The acne started spreading, and by sophomore year, my face looked horrible. I don't have any acne on my cheeks, jawline, or chin, but it MAKES MY FACE LOOK REALLY BAD. I have huge pores AND extremely oily skin so the pores on my face clog everywhere. I have whiteheads all over my forehead, temples, not many on my nose, and some on the area under my eye bags/adjacent to the nose. I have acne because the pores on my skin are huge, but only on the forehead and the areas describe. None of it is hormonal. I've tried the following regimens:
Retin-A + Benzaclin (4-6 months)
Differin +Benzaclin (4-6 months)
Differin (currently)
everything works for a little while (and even then it doesn't even clear most of it) and then it just stops.
I feel like that by stripping my face of al the oil with these prescription medications, it just makes my face oilier.
I don't wash my face TOO often, only once a day at night with Cetaphil cleanser.
I am now a junior in high school and i still have it and it drives me nuts everyday.
The acne is never red, but sometimes i get the occasional blind pimple (not too often),
but I only get whiteheads. i understand that some people have more severe acne that is red and hormonal but this is equally bad because it makes my skin look like I have some kind of fungal infection and it's just gross overall.
Has anyone gone through this and have any answers? Please help
