Hi guys this is my first post:( I signed up because after 7 years of acne and it dwindling and just dealing with 3/4 med-large spots on my face at any given time, in the last WEEK my face has suddenly exploded. I dont even think it is strictly acne. In the last week i have developed a red rash on my face of lots and lots of tiny spots. These spots/rash are on my whole face but especially on my forehead and around my mouth and chin, and on my nose. This is definitely abnormal as i literally hadnt had a forehead spit in YEARS; in a week there is 10+ tiny ones some with pus. They also itch, my usual acne never itched.

I went to the walk in clinic and was told it was dermatitis and prescribed hydrocortisone canesten cream, however when doing research it says steroid creams such as this can cause or worsen dermatitis!

Could anyone please give me some advice based on my photos, i have zero trust in the walk in centre nurses and my skin is making me feel disgusting i dont even want to leave the house:( also i had tried new products prior to this and have discontinued their use: could this be an allergy and if so when will the spots and rash go?

Folliculitis is definitely a possibility. You could try a zinc based shampoo or soap. Your best bet though is to visit a dermatologist so they can accurately diagnose you.

I agree with leelowe, this could be folliculitis, especially if it's itchy. Contact dermatitis is also a possibility, especially because you were trying out new products. If it's fungal related (rather than bacterial), then I would suggest trying to spot treat with tea tree oil, and apply a plain yogurt mask to your face every day for 20-30 minutes. Taking probiotics might also help, especially since you mention you might have candida symptoms. The body tends to be more reactive to new regiments if it's already overloaded with yeast.
