How long have you had facial hair? I don't know if your spots are on your hairless areas of your face too, but I have a hunch your acne is caused by ingrown hair. If this is the case, I advise shaving every day or don't shave at all and have a beard. Red spots from shaving are caused from improper shaving routine. Use a good razor and sensitive-skin shaving foam/gel, shave in the direction of your hair and make sure to moisturise the skin.

To see if it caused by your facial hair, I recommend not shaving for a couple of weeks and seeing if the spots disappear. If they do, you know why they're there.

You're acne is pretty bad. As a teen I had bad acne but they weren't really inflamed like yours. What you want to do is eat a very balanced diet. All tropical medicines do work but the best cure is eating clean. What helped me a lot with break outs is vitamin A. Retinol's main ingredient is vitamin A. I used to use retinol cream and it got worse before it got really good. I stopped and acne came back double time faster then when I was on it. It surely had some bad side effects that I didn't like so I regret ever using it. So what you want to do is up your vitamin A and C intake. Vitamin A helps prevent acne and vitamin C helps heal acne and scars/marks. What I do is mix some spinach which is good in vitamin A, with some eggs and onions. Throughout the day I snack on some carrots which are realt high in vitamin A. Then for vitamin C I eat broccoli with my meals. Cauliflour has a lot more vitamin C. Also proccessed foods are your enemy. Don't go overboard on carbs because it will spike you sugar insulin up which messes with your hormones. I believe that if you up your vitamin intake it can lessen even clear up your acne. Give it a try, it's good for your over all health. Only If I knew this when I was 16 but you know how teenagers are.

I have a question would taking vitamin supplements be beneficial I know it isn't the same, but would it still have a positive effect?

I'm not sure but why take supplements when you can have the natural source?

Just because supplements can be a constant source incase you don't have that food that day.

I have no problem with the natural source, just asking if supplements can be a partial substitute.

Very true, but that has never been a problem for me because vegetables are cheap even the organic ones.

Shaving can cause razor bumper which are pimples that are irritated.
