I'm new to this community, and I need people here to help me! :think:So my story goes like this,
I have acne vulgaris, I'm not too sure but judging from the look of my face,(comedones, blackheads(just a little), whiteheads, pustules, papules(1 or 2 occasionally) all over my forehead ,cheeks and chin, I'm 14 years old this year (by the way) also I'm a female. On 13th July, I went to my local GP to seek help for my acne. I was prescribed Clindamycin 0.1%, Differin Gel 0.01% and an Antiseptic Cleanser. I know from the leaflet of Differin Gel 0.01%, the Differin will make me breakout and it's suppose to purge the toxins forming under my skin. I'm still using it till today. Which I'm on my 6th week already, but my condition seems to only get worse and more breakouts. According to most people have experience, they have already cleared up or at least noticed improvements from the 4th week onwards and their breakouts last no more than 3 weeks. My acne has worsen ever since the start of using this treatment. I'm wondering if I should quit it or not? Another question is, should I switch to Differin Gel 0.03%? I heard that it works better.
Thank you guys!
As a general rule it can take upto 12 weeks to see any improvement and it's normal to breakout for those 12 weeks. I'm on week 7 and I still break out, albeit minor, but I still have an odd pimple. But maybe asking about the stronger gel could be a good idea if you still aren't happy. I would give it the 12 weeks before I decided to quit, personally.
