Have you have any sun exposure lately? If these persist I would see a dermatologist/ sun spot clinic. Better safe then sorry.

Hey there this looks like herpes simplex 1 (oral herpes). You can get herpes simplex 1 from kissing, eating from the same utensils as someone infected, or sharing an infected towel (think, at the gym, bathroom, hand towels, etc.) Many people have simplex 1. Here is some more info;

Once a person becomes infected with a herpes virus, the virus never leaves the body. After the first outbreak, the virus moves from the skin cells to nerve cells. The virus stays in the nerve cells forever. But it usually just stays there. In this stage, the virus is said to be dormant, or asleep. But it can become active again.

Some things that can trigger (wake up) the virus are:

  • Stress.
  • Illness.
  • Fever.
  • Sun exposure.
  • Menstrual periods.
  • Surgery

You can get herpes on your cheeks (or anywhere on your face) if you have the virus. I suggest getting a blood draw to confirm. It's nothing to be freaked out by, many many many people have herpes simplex 1 and sometimes don't even know it! Thus, they can pass on the virus and be a carrier without even knowing it.
