So I've had pretty bad acne since I was like 13 (face, back, chest, shoulders). a lot more cystic ance then white heads actually. I've gotten a few bad ones on my face (nose specifically). But recently I had the worst one I think I ever have had anywhere right on the tip of my nose. It started out as a sore red bump (blind pimple) and I realised it was probably gonna end up as a nasty cyst. I iced it to start of, applied astringent and a acne fighting moisturizer to it at night. A few days in I noticed the pain and inflammation wasn't going down so I started using a warm compress to draw a head.

After a few days a head (2 heads actually, 1 large 1 small) started to show. I didn't pop them I just continued the cycle of compress and astringent and moisturizing. This morning I woke up and I think something lighty touched my nose or something, I noticed some liquid was coming out and saw it was yellow puss. I went to the bathroom and saw puss oozing out from the pimple. There was a thin layer of peeling dry skin that the puss was oozing from. I peeled it off (I know that's not a good idea but it was already dead skin and was peeling off itself so I don't think it affected me negatively at all) and the rest of the puss was just sitting on my nose. I washed the puss off and my nose began to bleed like crazy from the pimple (like a long river of blood from my nose to my chin and it wouldn't stop!). After continually washing the blood off it finally stopped pouring out. Good right? The issue I have is im not sure that the pimples core ever came out. The swelling has not gone down what so ever since the puss came out. All that's left now seems to be a hole filled with blood. I'm really worried that The inflammation won't go down and the core did not come out. I tried squeezing it a bit but nothing but a little blood and clear liquid came out. What should I do? I really want to swelling to go down so it's flat. Currently it's still red and big and painful. I Need advice on what to do to help this big painful bump go away. I Attached an image of how it looks right now. The red blood isn't able to be wiped away. This pimple started about a week and a half ago and just oozed this morning. Any advice is appreciated. post-484367-0-95987400-1439315001.jpg

Update: few weeks in and the swelling has gone down some. It is still noticeably read and seems to be a scab. The scab will dry out and I'll think it's all good now but after a shower or something the scab opens and more pus comes out. Then it becomes a hole again, then scab, and the process repeats. One of the biggest issues is the pus keeps coming and the skin won't heal. Also it's still noticeably red and not quite flat yet. I've been applying some benzoyl proxide and erthromycn cream my doctor gave me on it for about 3 days twice a day and it hasn't seem to do much.post-484367-0-86410900-1440460042.jpg

it will EVENTUALLY go down. it's not going to stay forver, i had a cyst/nodule once that was hard on my chin for like a month but eventually it went away it just took forever. it's not going to stay there forever, but it might take a long time to go away

if you're really desperate i reccommend going to get a high frequency facial and the escthetician can zap it and it will be gone really fast

Oh man thats the worse spot =( Has it gone down at all since? Generally all you can do is continue the compressions and take some ibuprofen to hopefully calm down the area. It will go away eventually, especially since it has come to a head before. Its generally the ones that don't come to a head that will stay forever. I would keep up what you were doing and it should start calming down. If it sticks around for way to long a dermatologist can lance, or cortisol shot it.

Neosporin and a bandaid at night will help the infection. Do cold compresses often, take an anti inflammatory and eat very clean (fruits, vegetables and non inflammatory foods; no meat, no dairy!) use gentle products -- 100% aloe vera can too help with the inflammation. It may seem silly, but if you do need to go in public use a bandaid. People get cancerous marks frozen off their face all the time and have to use bandaids on their face. Just tell people that if they ask! Lol.

A few things I recommend and swear by; Origins Charcoal Masque and Eminence Organic Skin Care... see my signature for details. I use the Stone Crop line; it is 10x more hydrating then Aloe! And the Probiotic Masque is a must.

Best of luck and keep us posted on what does or does not work!
