A month or so ago I finished a 6 Month course of accutane (my 2nd course) which cleared my acne amazingly. I was totally clear. On finishing the course a week later I noticed I was getting smaller spots again, so my doctor prescribed me another month. I started this extra month and I cleared up again. After finishing this month extra... I stopped and almost straight away started to break out again! It's so frustrating. now almost a month later I am suffering more again. I took a big dose plus an extra month so don't think the dose could have been to low? What could be causing it to return immediately?!! My derm is confused.. And so am I! Any help/experience would be welcomed
Hiya I had the same thing happen to me after my 2 courses, I was on high doses as well. It's really upsetting at first as you hear so many success stories and go through so many side effects for NOTHING... Totally over accutane now. I mean there's a chance you could still clear completely but then again as fudgesicle said sometimes it just doesn't work for everyone. I am now 5 weeks into Differin combined with the acne.org regimen and its working really well for me. I think I read accutane changes your skin even if it doesn't clear you and things that failed in the past could work this time. I'm convinced this is true as before accutane topicals NEVER worked for me.
