Hi everyone! Long time not posting on here but I haven't stopped lurking. I still have acne, it started at 15-16 and here I am 20 years old and in college with it still being a burden. I am currently using a PocketDerm cream which is basically tretinoin, vitamin B5 and azaleic acid. It's been working really well I've been on it for 3 weeks and a lot of the acne has subsided. Acne doesn't want to go away on my neck, forehead and around my hairline and sometimes on my cheeks. I sometimes get HUGE cysts/nodules on my cheek. I've been straying away from BC but I know this acne is hormonal. I eat pretty clean and have minimal sugar, no dairy.
I'm meeting someone soon who is very important and I would like my acne to be relatively clear. That's happening in a bit under a month. Any tips to improve the effects of tretinoin or anything at all? The acne is mostly cystic and postules, very painful.
Please help
Overhaul your diet. "Pretty clean" and "minimal sugar" won't cut it. Eat meat, fruit, and vegetables only. Get rid of cereal, bread, dairy, and vegetable oils.
Thanks! I don't eat cereal or bread and cook with coconut oil. Is it bad that I eat rice basically every day? What about eggs a few times a week?
You can try peel treatments. I think chemical peel treatments are best for acne. It will give a great impact on your skin. I used to have peel treatments from The centre for dermatology in Richmond hill. It makes my skin clear and soft. It should be opted only considering your skin type. It is better to consult a dermatologist for further details. You can also attend a pre-plan treatment to avoid unnecessary side effects. If you are preferring natural treatments, then try lemon, vinegar, honey, etc.
I think you should try birth control.
Find a good face cleansing regimen that you can use 2x a day.
Use a hot water compress on any cystic acne and then cover with BP. The healing time will be 3-5 days if you do that.
Don't pick or Pop.
No touching your face.
Keep stress levels down as much as you can:
Do breathing excersises
Meditate
Do some push-ups or sit ups every day.

is it brown or white rice?
White rice most of the time, it's organic.

Thanks! I've done peels in the past but at home and they didn't do anything:/ I don't want to get them now because of the tretinoin.
I avoid rice because it's a grain. Go outside and try to gather some wild rice. Does it make sense to eat large amounts every day?
I've had wild rice before and it's great, just expensive. It doesn't make sense lol I know it's just difficult to substitute. I sometimes eat quinoa. Thanks!

I don't have insurance right now so BC is out of the question and I'm afraid that it will make it worse. I can't use BP because of the tretinoin but hot compresses have helped in the past.
Thanks for your tips! And for liking my name
Thanks a bunch everyone!
