A month and a half ago I got a really painful pimple/boil on my chest. It eventually turned into a scab, but for a month and a half now, the scab will fall off in the shower (from the water) and underneath is this really fleshy looking cyst filled with blood.

It kinda looks like a raspberry.. this is so embarrassing but I have no idea what it is and what to do. My dermatologist appointment is not for another month.. only one spot is painful. I've been on Accutane for 8 months now so I suspect maybe that has something to do with it.. or not.

I had a really smaller version of this happen with another pimple, and that one I decided to completely take out- It bled alot. I can only imagine how much this one would bleed if I took it out.

Hi there

I have found that my cysts are caused by oxalates in my diet. Oxalates are found in plant foods at varying levels. I found foods that are very high in oxalates, such as spinach and sesame seeds, cause the worst cysts. I read a tip that if you squeeze lemon juice over foods with oxalates it can help to minimise them. Not sure how this works but if I try this on foods that have previously given me cysts, eg brown rice, lentils and chickpeas, they no longet give me cysts. Anyway, this might not be the answer for you but I hope it helps. :)

I think a medical professional would be your best bet. Don't play around with it as it may get infected

Take it one step at a time. Worryng about the 'what ifs' will drive you nuts. Wait until you get a definite diagnosis before stressing. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers

I would definitely goto the doctor. It could just be a really big blood blister.

Hey guys,

so I went to my family doctor today, and he said it's an infected Pyogenic Granuloma. In other words, NOT CANCER. It needs to be burned off. Apparently, it can be a side effect of taking Accutane. i feel so relieved I spent the last weekend convinced I had cancer
