At the last months I was on a very very Strict diet , and I took alot of care of my face , alot of masks and pilings and homemade stuff,

as a reasult my face got alot better and my acne seems to be under control.. but I am still getting acne and skin issus , and if i will stop all what I'm doing my skin will get even worst , and I cant live like that , I'm doing things for my skin all day around the clock and every move I make I consider his effect on my skin (yes :( my social life are screwed ) and I dont have time to make schools homeworks and work because i sit all day at the bathroom waiting that my masks will get dry and until that I need to wash the bathroom of the the mess , and if i miss something the acne get worst..

I'm considring to stop all I do and start living , I want to take accutan although its dangerous... is it good idea?

sorry about my English I'm from Israel..

It's more dangerous failing school and missing out on a social life.

Hi!

I totally get you, I have really mild acne but I suffer a lot because of it - I've been diagnosed with Body Dysmorphic Disorder. Even though I manage to have social life and do quite well at school, still I always think about my skin, for example "okay, so there's a party but I must be back home around midnight because when I don't sleep enough my acne gets worse" . I know how awful it is to feel like you're wasting your life on taking care of your skin (and you get acne even while trying very hard to do everything you can). After a year of struggle and depression I'm considering Accutane. Since my acne is very mild no dermatologist ever would prescribe me a regular dose but my derm told me that for mild or moderate acne there's a possibility of taking small doses of Accutane for a longer time. I don't believe it will totally clear up my acne (it's only possible with a regular dose) but I can take it as long as I have skin problems. Since I'm 17 and I have a "normal teenage acne", my face probably will clear up by itself when puberty ends. Until then, I think that it's better to take Accutane than to waste the best tme of my life. As for the danger - most of the people I know have only experienced dryness during the course of Accutane, nothing more dangerous. Like you, I'm quite afraid of all the side effects (even though on my ultra low dose they are much less likely to occur) but I'm more afraid of what can happen to me if I continue to live this way.

So, I'm with you. I don't know when I'll be starting Accutane, but I'm more and more convinced every day. Maybe your acne also isn't that bad and you can get a low dose? It's not as "scary" as the full course, but on the other hand the full course will clean your acne once and for good.

Talk to people on this website - many of them are on Accutane and can tell you everything about it. Their opinions can help you with the decision.
