The best test to get is the Mediator Release Test which you can order from Florida for $495 US. That's the best route as most other tests are inaccurate. And if it causes your acne, it's more likely that it's food sensitivities and intolerances, and not allergies. I've gone this route. You can check out my 3 foods journey, and read towards the end if you want. I've finally beat my acne for the most part after a year of playing with food. It may save you time and money.
I got some tests in the past which helped a bit, and was going to get the mediator release test before someone helped me out with diet changes. It's all on that topic I mentioned. If you want any further help, let me know. There's also a couple other members who are a lot of help that you can find on that topic. I don't want to be rude and throw their names around, as I've done before. haha
good luck.
I went to a wellness doctor and had it done. It cost me about $550. I was supposedly intolerant to 52 different things -ha! When my acne was at its worst I was so desperate to get it under control that I actually stopped eating all those foods on the advice of the doctor. Well my skin got worse and worse and I was miserable and ended up losing 15 pounds which for my size is a lot of weight. I did that diet for a while and then when things werent progressing I went to my regular doctor to get my all my levels tested to see if I was deficient in anything and while I was there I was discussing with him my food allergy results. He said that the only real way to tell would be to eat a food and then see if I breakout afterwards but that he used to do the testing in his office until he realized that everybody's results were coming up that they were intolerant to tons of different things which just wasnt possible. He said those tests are not reliable and to go back to eating how I was before. I went back to my old diet and got on keflex and then that cleared me up right away and am also still on spiro. I can eat whatever I want and do not break out at all anymore. So anyway if you have the cash and you want to get it done by all means go for it but maybe you can keep a log of what you eat to see if there is any correlation with your breakouts. Good luck!
The Mediator Release Test is supposed to be the most accurate test to date. Many people on here have cleared their acne by getting it. However, I cleared my acne by eating only fruits and vegetables, and eliminating foods I reacted to. That's really the best, most accurate, and cheapest way to do it. Tracy is right about most tests, though. Most aren't very accurate at all.
