Hi guys,
So here is a little acne history. First of all, I'm 21.
All throughout highschool I had horrible cyctic acne all over my face, no acne anywhere else.
I went on accutane for six months and it worked perfectly.
About a year later I started getting acne again but not cystic, just small red papules.
Cystic acne began to form on my neck and under my jawline eventually, so I went to a doctor. The doctor prescribed me antibiotics and a topical antibiotic, after a month or two there were no effect so she game me a benzoyl peroxide wash. I noticed that it was helping so I bought a topical benzoyl peroxide and did the regime essentially. All the cystic acne under my jawline is now gone however the benzoyl peroxide will NOT touch these red papules. I'm starting to think I'll never get rid of them and now I'm doubting it is even acne. They never come to the surface and they are just bright red.
Any advice would be lovely
Pentanone,.......Try this for 3 weeks and see if you do not show improvement. Cut out ALL meat from your diet......no burgers, no steak, no chicken. Cut out ALL dairy from your diet......no milk, no yogurt, no cheese. Drink 64 ounces of water a day.....squeeze one organic lemon in one or two of your glasses of water each day. Basically, acne is from toxic build up in your bodies. These toxins are processed by the liver, but when the liver cannot handle it all, they are secreted by another organ......the skin.....and it results in acne.
So, basically, you have to detox your body and not put more toxins in. You also must cut waaayyyy back on sugar, and cut out all junk foods like chips, cheetos, cool whip, and other fake foods full of cheap oil. Remember ice cream is dairy, so none of that either!
What you will eat, besides water constantly, is tons of fresh fruits and vegetable, organic if possible. Breakfast can be frozen organic berries....Costco has big, economical bags......So throw in your blender frozen strawberries, bananas, blueberries, a handful of spinach, for breakfast. You can have almonds and walnuts, and dinner can be a huge salad of red onion, organic spring mix, spinach, brocolli, tomatoes, etc.....baked potatoes are fine, too.
Go to the site Totally Raw Christina for salad ideas. Read about acne and diet......google things like I cured my acne with raw food.......basically read and educate yourself as to the REAL cause of acne........Most derms just treat the SYMPTOMS.......NOT the cause.......As you learn more about the real causes of acne, you will be able to monitor and control it yourself as you watch what you put in your body. Primitive cultures do not get acne......That is because they do not eat foods laden with hormones and antibiotics, pesticides, and herbicides. Like I said, read and educate yourself and you will overcome this!
Hummm ,have you tried exfoliating with glycolic acid or salicylic acid,? If you have and they don't work , then maybe, there could be infection in the hair follicles,or a fungal infection, you can ask your doctor about topical antifungal creams .
Take care.
I recently purchased a glycolic moisturizer with 10%. It seemed to just create all this texture on my face like hundreds of raised bumps. I feel like maybe my skin is too sensitive. Thanks for the advice though. I just feel like the doctor would have spotted it as such when I was there. At this point I'm just going to continue with the regimen and probiotic/vitamin supplements and hope that those and time will just work magic, I'm a bit exhausted, its just been years of this.
My sons get acne similar to yours, just small red bumps. BP never really helped, even using it every day they still got new zits regularly. Glycolic and salicylic acid didn't help either. In fact all those products did nothing to stop the pimples and just made their faces red.
They stopped using any topicals several months ago and they actually look better. All they do is wash with a basic cleanser. They still get some pimples, but they aren't as red and inflamed and they seem to heal quicker. Their overall skin quality looks better too, much less redness. If the BP isn't helping the pimples on your face you may want to try weaning yourself off of it and see if your skin looks better. Also, watch the amount of iodine in your vitamin, as that has been linked to acne.
When you get small pimples right after using any product, then it is possible a reaction.
Your skin might be reactive and sensitive.
I kind of agree with the poster above ,my son couldn't use bp ,he had to do differin and solodyn antibiotics for awhile ,long time that I didn't agree , but he had to .
After he cleared ,he just used cerave foming cleanser , then after his face wasn't oily anymore, he switched to cerave hydrating cleanser and acnomel , that contains sulfur , just to spot treat .
He has minor breakouts, mostly because of shaving ,so he started growing a beard .
I think for men , the problem is mostly from shaving.
If you take vitamins, sometimes the iodine can cause breakouts, also biotin .
Probiotics are probably of no good if there isn't a cleansing done before.
Just avoid milk ,dairy products, nuts , or chocolate if you react to those.
Limit sugar intake , and control your stress levels.
Talk to your doctor if shaving can be causing infection, and ask for an antibiotic or topical antifungal if you are not comfortable taking antibiotics.
It is normal to have a breakout every now and then, with all the additives and hormones added to our foods it's impossible for our bodies to not react in a negative way.
I have noticed more and more people with acne problems these days , and don't get me wrong , I am one of those people who don't pay attention ,it's just that I was talking to my family in Mexico and they told me to look around and see that skin problems seem to be on the rise ,eczema, seborrheic ,contact dermatitis, acne.
So , I think , it's better for you to be gentle to your face .
Maybe , your face needs a break.
Take care.
