Just wanted to share this because I read so many forums trying to find something to help my acne. Over the last year and half I've had the absolute worst breakouts I've ever experienced (I'm a 26 year old female). I was on the Mirena IUD and not longer after having it implanted, I started breaking out like crazy around my cheeks. Even after getting it removed, the breakouts just moved from my cheeks to my forehead and temples. I'm not the type to put a lot of effort into my appearance but it was making me miserable and I felt so self-conscious. I tried a lot of different things. I have what I think is combination skin. My skin looks very dry, it never feels oily. So that only complicates the problem. It seems to also be very sensitive.
I started using Neutrogena Ultra Gentle cleanser and it started working almost immediately. Also, witch hazel for toner. Another great tool is the COSDNA website. You can look up almost any cosmetic or skincare product and see it's ratings for comedogenic ingredients and irritants. I never realized so many of my makeup products, etc. that are labeled oil free or non-comedogenic are actually not. The ultra gentle cleanser had zeros in both categories which I think explains why it works so well. Now I'm very careful with what I put on my face and it has greatly improved my skin after a couple of weeks. Still not perfect but the breakouts are so much more mild and I feel much better about my face.
