I have been suffering from acne for almost 10 years since i was 14. Most (90%) of my acne are big bumps of cystic acne at my jawline acne + chin and lips area. I had never have clear jawline before for the past few years. There will always be at least one big cystic acne and my jawline area and also below my ears. Its like these acne take their turn to grow on each side of my jawline and upper neck area.
I have been using acne.org regimen for half a year last year, it helped for most parts of my face but just not working at all for my jawline acne. I stopped for a month last december and it became worst. Now i am back with the acne.org regimen and added in glycolic acid, but i can still see new cystic acne forming every few days.
It was thinking whether it gotta do with my diet or lymphatic congestion or whatever reason? I started to drink apple cider vinegar every day mixed with juices, and i also started to take oral vitamin supplements ( vitamin b complex, vitamin A, fish oil capsules, and also zinc supplement)
I hope anyone that share the same frustration like my case of acne condition, or anyone that have overcame this, please share with me and advice on how to deal with it. These big bumps of cystic acne are really a pain in the ass for me for the past decade!
I have the same problem as well. From what I have heard, most of the acne around the jawline tends to be hormonal.
The first step to treating jawline acne is to figure out the cause. One potential reason you are breaking out on your jawline could be due to hormonal changes that are going on in your body. More women tend to suffer from jawline acne than men do, due to an increase in their testosterone levels and imbalanced hormones. The Testosterone causes a buildup of proteins in the cells that line your pores, which continues until bacteria, pus and dead skin cells form inside, causing those unsightly pimples that you see along your jawline.
You should see your dermatologist or doctor and ask them to prescribe Spironolactone (also known as Aldactone), which is an anti-androgen that works to limit your hormonal fluctuations that contribute to breakouts that cause jawline acne.
Diet can also be attributed to jawline acne; if you consume excess caffeine, soda or sugars, this can often cause your hormones to go haywire, resulting in breakouts along the jaw. There are numerous products that work well to treat jawline acne, including tea tree oil, which is an anti-viral and anti-bacterial agent that is more effective than the standard treatment of Benzoyl Peroxide, which has many unpleasant side effects. Just dilute tee tree oil with water then dip a cotton ball into the mixture and dab along your jawline. Do this before you go to bed at least twice a week.

I have the same problem. Went on Accutane. It cleared my skin but not all the jaw line cyst. After being off Accutane for about six months the cyst tripled. I always wear my hair down around my face to cover them. Five days ago I read on a blog to apply athlete foot cream and tea tree oil. When i wake up they are smaller but through out the day the hair on my face irritates them. So today I applied it and covered my face with my hair as usual. Some cyst are completly gone. I cant even feel them under my skin. I wish I would have taken before and after pics.
Hi this is my first time posting on here. I have similar frustrations with jawline and chin cystic acne. I've had acne since I was 13 although it's never been this bad before (I'm 23 now). Off and on I would find something that would work for a while (different skin care systems, antibiotics, etc) but nothing lasts permanently. My acne over the years has become really cystic. I generally only get cysts when I break out now. I took minocyline for two years and saw pretty great results. I would still get occasional cysts when I would get my period but it would go away and my skin would look great after. Last summer I went to the doctor hoping to get my hormones tested because I sensed I had a hormone imbalance. All my breakouts were around my mouth and it just seemed to make sense. My doctor told me it was just PMS (ugh) and gave me birth control. I only took it for a week because it made me go CRAZY but I think it further messed up my hormones. After taking it, I broke out a lot more than usual.
In October of 2014 I went to see an acne specialist. She would do treatments (extractions, peels, and such) and gave me lots of products that did make a difference---for two months. She told me to take supplements like saw palmetto and estro block to try and balance my hormones. And i saw results, I didn't get really any cysts at all. And then in January I stopped taking minocyline cold turkey because I figured my face was doing well and I didn't need it anymore. after that I started to notice I was breaking out more but it was manageable. And then in March I woke up to several cysts around my mouth. Each month my face started to get worse and worse so I went back on minocycline hoping to get rid of the cysts again. And it really hasn't worked.
I recently got tested for a hormone imbalance and was told that I have low progesterone. I'm going to start using a cream to boost my levels in a few days. Anyways back to the point of this thread. In the last two months I have been getting really painful and large cysts all over my jawline and still around my mouth. In the past I NEVER broke out on my jawline, only a few cysts around my mouth generally when I got my period. But now, each day it gets worse and worse and I have no idea why. I have been taking minocyline twice a day, probiotics, estro block and fish oil pills. I wash my face every day with the products from the acne specialist (acne wash with benezoyl peroxide, moisture balance toner, mandelic serum, acne med with 5 percent sulfur, zinc face mask, retinol, etc) and it keeps getting worse and worse. I just don't know where these cysts are coming from. I have never experienced this before and it's taking a very large toll on me. ANY help or suggestions would be so wonderful. Why do you think these cysts are happening? and why now? I'm really depressed. I used to be confident and in the last several months I have lost all of it.
Oh and I eat pretty healthy. I have cut out almost all dairy, gluten and yeast. I got tested for a food sensitivity and have cut out everything on it. Someone please give me advice! Thanks!
