Hi everyone! I have this pea-sized lump under my earlobe that was been there for about 3 months after a pimple had been there. Sometimes it is painful and bothersome and sometimes it is not. I put the retinoid cream my dermatologist prescribed to me and the size would go down but then it would go back to its normal pea-sized lump. I have had really bad cystic acne since I was 13. Could this be a left over scar of the pimple? Does anyone have any recommendations?
I wanted to try some things out before heading to the dermatologist.
You sure it's a lump, and not another pimple? Those are common and generally last 2-6 months as long as you leave them alone. It will go by faster if you don't look at it. Then after a few weeks, it will be noticably smaller and then gone before you know it. Harsh medicine and picking may prolong its stay.
If its painful, then its most likely a pimple.
