Nothing Seems To Work

At this point, I feel like I have tried everything. I've been off the regimen for about 2 months and have taken a more natural turn, using all natural soap (Dr. Bronners) on my face as well as currently using a green tea toner and a witch hazel toner (each once a day, alternating morning/night). I also started taking zinc, D3-5000, and Omega 3 Krill Oil. I started these 3 supplements only about two or three days ago, and I haven't noticed much of a difference... I guess I'll have to wait and see for that.

My skin overall is better since I stopped the regimen (less red, no more dryness and peeling), but I'm still breaking out. And not just breaking out, but tons of closed comedones (SO ANNOYING) which I end up squeezing out after a while, which doesn't help with my breakouts. I was really hoping the witch hazel would clear all that up, but it literally did nothing.

I have tried so many things, basically all the natural stuff--changing my diet, cutting diary, (neither of these effected my acne in any way), tried sugar scrubs, sea salt, tea tree oil, colloidal silver, lavender, etc. For the chemicals I refuse to try any more, as they just ruined my skin, even if I stopped breaking out for a short period (it always comes back), my skin looks like crap. All kinds of BP and Salicylic acid washes over the years.

NOTHING WORKS FOR ME!! I don't know what to any more. I'm so sick of trying to treat my skin constantly and having nothing work. I think it's hormonal, and I would like to go to a homeopathic doctor but they're so expensive.

Does anybody have any ideas? Anybody who's been in a similar situation?? I'll accept any advice.

@Rabab95.... I think you gave yourself the answer,a doctor or gynecologist can check your hormones and also your vitamin deficients .

I don't agree with the concept or approach that people take ,regarding vitamins or over the counter supplements,I mean , how do we know that they work for the needs our bodies have, what if we happen to have some other internal imbalances and ended up messing up other condition that we might have in our bodies.

Check antioxidant on Wikipedia.

Understanding how the cells work sometimes can lead us to understand our bodies and so our skins.

Acne is a condition that can be controlled, or put in remission forever, for those lucky ones, I'm glad.

Not everyone fits in one size fits all.

We are all different.

I hope that you can find what works best for you.

Best wishes.

I'm sorry I forgot to add ,witch hazel is just an antiseptic and I don't think green toners do much.

Soaps are the worst for the skin .

I prefer glycolic acid toners to salicylic acid toners.

As for oils ,they really have to be used with caution ,lavender oil dries the skin , using oils undiluted is bad ,oils are complicated if you don't know how to use them.

For example lavender oil can't be used for people with bladder kidney problems or brain disorders.

Jojoba oil ,maybe works for people who doesn't have problems with mallassezia (sp?) The demodex mites that we all carry in our bodies. As for me I think that I have a colony, I'm sorry jojoba makes me itch, but my daughter likes it.

My daughter is trying the natural approach right now,I told her , there is nothing natural when you are putting make-up on your face.

Make-up,hormones, and diet ,unfortunately and stress in our lives all contribute to inflammation in our bodies.

All animal products have antibiotics and hormones injected, even when my son tries to convince me otherwise,he says that farmers choose the best genetics and raise them like that, helllo , I'm 52 and growing up I don't remember seeing a chicken,a cow or a pig that big.

Our food has been genetically modified with more salicylic acid and some other toxins ,cotton is one of the worst or if not the worst.

Sugar is bad, and I can go on and on. So , don't panic and start making a list about the things that you use and how you react to them. You can accomplish so much doing that , but for people who suffer with skin problems it might take awhile to find something that works.

Sometimes people don't even have acne, another condition might be causing the inflammation, and the imbalance.

Again, best wishes

Sorry for the long post

Thanks so much for your input. Yeah I've been doing a lot of reading about it, what I'm doing now isn't really "making my acne go away" (nothing really was), but atm it's been leaving my skin (aside from the acne) feeling really soft and making my skin tone more even, and not dry, so that's why I'm continuing to use it.

I think I will go to a doctor, just to see if there are any imbalances or deficiencies that could be the cause.

Another huge factor that I just thought about today--I've been taking Advair/Flovent asthma medication for many years--even before I started developing acne at around 12 years old. I think this might be a reason why my acne won't go away now, as it seems to be a side effect for the medicine.

Did anybody else ever have a problem like this?

I am a 34 year old male and had some degree of acne for my entire adult life. I have taken Advair and Flonase for asthma and allergies for the past 15 years. I recently noticed my acne that was around my mouth and nose were similar to perioral dermatitis. I did some research to discover inhaled steroids can cause perioral dermatits. I stopped taking both Advair and Flonase and switched to montelukast (Singular) a little over two months ago and have experienced a huge decrease in inflammation and acne.

The Cave man method is what 100% CLEARED my severe acne. No other product, natural remedy, diet, lifestyle change helped my acne (was a pure vegan for 3 years, i exercised on a daily, i used top high brand products)-- the root of the problem were all these nasty chemicals and products ive used on my skin for all the years i had acne. I basically created the problem, without ever realizing it. Seriously, i wish i have known about this earlier and thats why i want to tell you theres an easier, and smarter way to deal with this! :P

DISCLAIMER : i know this will not work for everyone because everyones' skin is different, and although acne is caused by soo many diff. factors (stress, hormones, to name a few) but this is just what worked for me!

This is for the person who mentioned singulair ...my husband takes singulair , the brand name and even when he doesn't suffer with acne, I believe this is the reason why he doesn't get any breakouts, I went to the patents online information and read what singulair does, pretty interesting ,and now reading this from someone who thinks that singulair is helping with their acne , I'm glad.

Take care!
