So I had pretty severe cystic acne prior to discovering that I was pregnant. I'm now 6 weeks pregnant and my entire face is COVERED in huge painful cysts and a plethora of white heads. It hurts to eat because I have to open my mouth, it hurts to smile and I can't sleep in any position but on my back. Washing my face and trying makeup is beyond painful. I'm soo embarrassed to be seen by anyone out in public. I have been washing twice a day with a mild BP wash, using apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil as an astringent and applying topical clindamycin however it's only getting worse and worse each day. I've also tried the lerosett mask and a sulphur mask. My face is bright red, beyond swollen and hot to the touch. Please help!!! I'm in so much pain.

Are you serious dude ? stop asking dumb crap idiot.
Treefrog, first of all,Accutane is out of the available options while you are pregnant (if you are thinking in taking it).
I don't know if you can start a oral antibiotics course while you are pregnant (i think you can). Antibiotics will work but your acne will come back as soon you stop taking them.
Since when exactly you have acne ?
AcneWonderland - you are beyond rude and clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Just because I have acne (mostly hormonal) doesn't mean my child will.
Francopld - I've had acne since I was about 21. I'm 27 now but it has never been this bad until about 2 weeks ago and it just keeps getting worse. I am hoping to start oral antibiotics as they have helped in the past. I'm aware accutane is no longer a possibility but I'm looking for some relief from the pain.

So,if your acne is hormonal,i suppose that i gets a lot worse during "that time of the month" right ? Did you ever take Spironolactone or a similar anti androgen drug as a treatment for your acne ? (Like Moonlight,a female moderator of here, had a really good success with spiro, and also she may help you more than i). Did you notice any difference ?
Again,as a man,i'm not very informed about acne treatments for woman, besides the known ones. I don't know if you can take Spiro (or any birth control) while being pregnant.
You may think of doing a course of Accutane if nothings works after having your baby. +6 years of acne, and at your age,is not common.
Hopefully "Like Moonlight" will help you more than i'm trying to do !. You should send her a private message or something !
Maybe see a naturopath or a homeopath? That sucks, I'm sorry Pregnancy is already hard enough. I was lucky that all my acne went away when I was pregnant but then 3 months after half my hair fell out and my acne came back 10x worse. Maybe you could change your cleanser to something super gentle (I'd try organic babywash) and see if you aren't aggravating it with the bp, sulphur and tea tree.
Hope it gets better so you can focus on more important baby stuff!
I am so sorry you're struggling with this at a time when you should be enjoying this wonderful time. Definitely go see a derm to get a run down of options. You can also make diet changes such as cutting out dairy and gluten (check with a dr to make sure this is ok for your body). Lastly, if you can afford it, a naturopath may be able to provide holistic options.
My GP several times have told me that after pregnancy many women have much better skin then before. Because hormonal changes in ur body. Dont know yet would it work with me the same thing. Maybe u be lucky and ur acne will go away by itself after u give birth. You should consult ur dr according antibiotics. I think that there were some also pregnant women can take. Anyway u will need prescription. I know its though. I had bad acne as well, at the moment its under control, but it never really goes away completely. I wish u good luck. Take care of ur baby and dont care what other ppl think. Just dont harm him with any harsh chemicals. Some oral antibiotics are damaging to unborn child. Best of luck and cheer up.Sooner or later acne will go away.
