How Is That Even Possible?

Long story short: Have been battling 20 years against acne.

First the usual teenage acne... Which evolved into nasty cystic acne.

3 rounds of Accutane did not help for much except messing up my face some more.

have now achieved nearly clear skin through a balanced diet and minimizing products of on my face.

Still getting the odd nasty cystic bump twice a month.

And guess what? One of those nasty bumps came out last week!

I know that these are the kind which will last 2 or 3 weeks if untreated.

Problem is: Whatever I throw at them, they keep growing bigger and bigger.

Local antibiotic, tee tree oil, BPO, anti-fungi, nothing stops them from continuing to grow.

Seems that whatever is inside them is triggering a huge response from my body.

A derm took a sample and it seems to be Staph Epidermis.

Anyway, I decided to apply a bit of tee tree oil anyway, trying to bring it to a head faster during the weekend.

Covered it up with a bandaid for 1 hour today, due to the beautiful sun we have (didn't want it to get worse).

Took out the bandaid.... And my God that was a mistake!

The pimple is now angry red, and the whole area around it is totally angry red as well!

As if I had an allergic reaction to the bandaid, or as if the tee tree oil had burnt my skin!

That never happened to me before.

I am now left with a huge angry pimple and a round red area around it (where the bandaid was).

I am totally desperate here.

Have an important interview to attend tomorrow.

I do not see how I will be able to make it with such a huge pimple right in the middle of my face.

Anyone has any idea?

Steroid shot is the only thing that can help immediately. To prevent future cysts, I would recommend taking a hard look at your diet. This sounds a lot like a food sensitivity. It could be wheat, dairy, citrus, legumes - really anything.
