Flesh Coloured Bumps On Forehead Only - Folliculitis Or Whiteheads/closed Comedones?

Hi all,

The past few months I've had small flesh coloured bumps appear on my forehead, in between my eyebrows and a few on either side of my nose. Pictures are attached. I'm trying to find out what they are exactly and how to get rid of them.

Just a bit of background, I've never had any acne in these areas and have generally had very good skin on my face. I would get the occasional pimple or ingrown hair but that's it. I have always had eczema though which got better with age (I'm 20 now) but never on my face and I'm pretty much clear now since I stopped using normal soap and switched to African black soap. I have had what appears to be bacne for years but I never bothered trying to get rid of until recently. I have pretty normal but sensitive skin on my face which occasionally gets dry.

Around 6 months ago I decided to start doing more to look after my skin with the intent of preserving my good skin for later years even though I had no problems. I started using cheap moisturisers and scrubs from the supermarket and my skin got irritated so I stopped. I then discovered African black soap and used that in the shower instead of regular soap and shampoo. At the same time I discovered the oil cleansing method and started doing that with EVOO and castor oil every other day. I also started using rosewater on my face everyday after my shower. A few days or weeks later I started to notice these small bumps on my forehead. These continued to come up as well as the occasional larger painful red bump which I had only ever had once before in my life when I was 16. I thought this might be something to do with purging so carried on but dropped OCM to once a week. I started washing my face twice a day and started moisturising with jojoba oil which helped with the large painful red bumps that were now coming up around once a week but not the small flesh coloured ones. In the past I would never have to do this, as an athlete I would exercise several times a day and sweat like crazy but not wash my face at all apart from my morning shower, no acne. A few days ago I stopped using the African black soap because I heard it can possibly clog pores but it's still too early to tell.

Anyway, I thought these were whiteheads/ closed comedones and I'd need to use some topical medication to get rid of while continuing a good routine everyday. After hours of searching and reading threads on this forum, I thought there was a possibility it could be malassezia folliculitis due to it only being on my forehead plus the increased disposition due to my eczema/asthma (possibly also explains the apparent bacne). The bumps do not itch at all however.

Please take a look at the attached pictures and let me know what they could be, I really appreciate any input, I don't want to ruin my skin.

Jack
