About two weeks ago I got a round raised most likely acne cyst on my cheek. It was round and felt kind of sac like. I had gotten a scab there before from popping a pimple it came off and formed this sac like cyst. I went to the derm and she injected it three days ago and it has gone down a lot . Since then I have been putting benzaclin on it. Its gone down but is still circular and has a little sac like feeling to it. Do you think this will go away..is this normal for an acne cyst to feel like this...I really don't know. Its kind of like hard and squishy. I just don't want it to be a scar and stay like this.
i think it will be fine and eventually go away but the core of the cyst might have to be removed at some point. also sometimes when they do shots they dont put enough cortisone in there and then it doesnt get rid of the cyst completely. i would wait a few weeks and see how it looks from there.
i cant say if it will or wont but i would let it heal for a while and then if its still there then you can ask the derm to do it or go and get a facial and have them do the extraction. if you have the tool to do it and you can see it properly then it would be fine but i would wait a while to do that. i used to get shots and it would sometime take them weeks to go away so wait a few weeks and then re-asses from there.
benzaclin is fine it wont hurt anything but i dont think it can really get down in there. do you currently use AHA nightly? if not, i would add that in to keep those skin cells from sticking together and causing acne. sometimes even applying AHA then BP works pretty well too.
