Really Sick Of This...

I have had acne for around three years now and I am 13. (I live in New Zealand) From a very young age, I would get spots on my chin but just the odd one or two. 2 years ago, I had heaps of bumps on my forehead but they minimized when I started cleansing and moistursing. My skin has now reached an all time low. I seem to get spots around the sides of my face like the chin, sides of my head and jawline. I also have little but visible bumps on my neck. My mum is a beauty therapist and I get facials and extractions but nothing makes a difference. My scars from previously popped pimples (alliteration, woo) reside everywhere and make my acne look worse than it actually is. I have oily, fair skin. I still have very small bumps on my forehead that can be seen in the sunlight. In the last year and a bit I have only had two days spot free.

I have very very bad bacne and its got to the point where I don't wear singlets or tank tops anymore because it can be seen on my shoulder blades and the top of my back.

I feel like I do everything that is recommended. I eat healthy, I drink 2L of water a day, I run 2km most days and I play sports. I cleanse and moisturise twice a day, shower every day and I use hair products that don't irritate my skin. I change my pillowcase, put on a mask once a week and I have been trying to avoid make up. I don't get stressed easily. I haven't had my period yet. Its holidays right now for me and I HAVE to wear concealer for school. I really want my skin to get better before school starts again because I am absolutely sick of my acne. Its been too damn long that I have had it for and I am doing everything I can. I am going to the doctors next week to see what they can offer. Any suggestions?

Okay first off is your 'scarring' indents or just discolouration? If its discolouration dont worry, this isnt scarring! its hyperpigmentation and will go in time.

Closed comedones will go with exfoliation, as will the hyperpigmentation. Chemical exfoliation is best, like glycolic acid facewash.

It is essential you wear suncream to prevent discolouration getting darker, and to protect your skin as acne treatments make it sensitive.

Also, moisturise it helps hydrate the skin and make it supple so the closed comedones will eventually go away (they are quite stubborn)

Massage your face with your moisturiser, helps improve circulation and remove dead skin cells.

Dont panic about your skin, it doesnt make you ugly and you are not alone.

If you do have indented scars, these can be reduced later in life. Theres so much people can do nowadays.

Dont let acne hold you back, its nothing in the grand scheme of things.

This. ^^

Basically, everything said above is correct. Don't pick on the spots, no matter how itchy, stop yourself. In the long run, it stops the spread of bacteria so you will have less spots. 🙂 And if you do pick, disinfect the area on and around where you picked. Don't let this hold you back, think positive, stay alert of what you consume, and you'll be fine!

Maybe think about trying the regimen? I too feel like I'm doing all the right things and still struggle daily with breakouts. After trying virtually every other product out there I decided to give the regimen a shot. They are doing this great giveaway right now with free starter kits, all you have to do is pay the $5 shipping fee! Might be something to consider.

Good luck, stay beautiful!
