...getting a haircut and skin getting better?

I'm a guy and I only have a small amount of acne but my skin is really rough and blotchy. However, I've noticed that when I get a haircut my skin usually looks a lot better and a lot clearer.

Is there any link between the two? My hair doesn't usually come into contact with my face, by the way.
