This is my first post. I've been a lurker for over a year, but just recently decided to make an account with intentions of getting some feedback.
I am a 21 year old male and have had continuous acne since 15. I've always thought my skin was relatively clear with little to no scars because I only really looked into mirrors under inside light. After seeing myself in natural light (outside), I realized I look completely different than how I thought I did.
What bothers me is the constant redness of blemishes that seem to never go away. I rarely get any whiteheads anymore. Instead, red dots just appear. I am unhappy with my complexion, blemishes, and little scarring that look like tiny dots.
Here are a couple pictures that I'm hoping to get some feedback on. How would you rate my acne? 1-10? Mild, mild-moderate, moderate-sever, etc.
What do you recommend I do to get rid of redness/blemishes? I've started drinking 8 glasses of water a day and eating relatively healthy by avoiding sugar and limiting the amount of processed food I eat. I've been washing my face once a day mainly with only water because I never notice a difference when using cleansers (been doing so since I was 15 and changing cleansers up until a year ago).
Again, how would you rate my acne/complexion?
I'd rate your acne at a 1. I used to have shit like this
all over my face and shoulders and I can tell you that the scars I now have from it will last a lifetime.
So what do I recommend for getting rid of acne?
My guess is your acne is irritation from shaving. Take a look at what you're shaving with and see if there could be an irritant. I would recommend using black soap to shave with. It lathers up great and is very acne friendly. As the others have said, your acne is light. I would avoid any BPO or harsh treatment. You could use a light SA for exfoliation, but the black soap would exfoliate enough as well.
