Moisturiser

Can anyone recommend a moisturiser (preferably in the UK) that I can use as a deep moituriser at night? I get chronically dry skin but leaving a moisturiser on overnight does help even though I am still prone to breakouts. I am plastering E45 on at the moment but it isn't that great

Thanks in advance

Try A-DERMA skin care cream. I use it, it's really hydrating. Love it!

It contains a form of oats called 'Rhealba' (not a clue what that is), but it's good for the skin. I get it from Boots. There's a small bottle you could buy just to give it a try.

Vaseline is also an option.

By the time I wash it off my whole face it makes my skin very dry as it's a tough task removing it!

E45 cream is the best I've found after trying hundreds of products but still isn't great unless I use a lot

I use Cetaphil for sensitive skin but I'm not sure if you can get it in the UK or not.

There are two oils that work well too, jojoba oil and borage oil. I'm sure you can get them at most health food stores. They are both good for blemished skin as they moisturize without clogging your pores.

Good luck!

Do you have First-aid Beauty in the UK? I use their Repair Cream and it's lovely. It's also formulated without harsh chemicals. I think you could order it on the web. It's around 20 something dollars and lasts literally forever.

NEVER USE VASELINE! It's horrible! I've tried it before, and it made me greasy and caused major breakouts

Seriously, it's not something you want to mess with, and you will regret it

Thanks for replies. I don't think we have first-aid but Cetaphil is obviously available online. Is it as good as people make out? Is it greasy?

Vaseline is actually considered non comedogenic, but you are right that some people do not respond well to it.

I really can't say enough good things about jojoba oil. It won't cause you to break out because it mimics the skin's natural oil. I was hesitant to try it at first, but I love it. It's done wonders for my skin, especially since I'm also using BP, which on my skin is very harsh.

Personally, I don't like it. I have combination oily skin, and cetaphil is way too greasy for me. I'm sure that it is meant for dryer skin. It made me break out awfully.

Is Jojoba Oil similar to Cocoa Butter where it is really difficult to remove or is it much lighter?

I've never used cocoa butter, but jojoba oil has always felt very light and I've never had any problems washing it off.

I've invested in some Jojoba oil. How much do you tend to use? A tiny bit or is it a case of slapping it on?

Coconut oil is comedogenic, so it causes acne. It is not a good thing to use to take away your acne.

As for jojoba oil, you can either mix it with a moisturizer (which i prefer) or you can apply it directly to your face. I just don't like greasy things on my face, it just feels gross. Jojoba oil helps me a lot with dryness and flaking.

I've tried coconut oil on my face before, and it is very thick and hard to wash off.

I used it for the first time last night and it is AWFUL! It made my skin itch and had broke me out and left red blotches all over my face!! I think I'll be back to the E45!
